Andrew Bardetta takes NSW State Championship title

The 2018 NSW State Championships were hosted by the NSWRCRCC Inc at the John Grant International Raceway. In 1/10th Nitro it was Jeff Hamon that would take the TQ, Andrew Bardetta in 2nd, David Chen 3rd and up and coming young racer Brayden Stanley in 4th taking the last automatic qualifying position for the A-final. They were joined in the final by Alex Koussas, Tim Moylan, Dustin Fletcher, George Karozis, Michael Rumiz and John Germanos who bumped up from the 2 semi finals.

Hupo Hönigl doubles at Austrian 1/10 Buggy Nats Rd1

The first round of the Austrian 1/10 Off-road Nationals was held at the SMRC Vienna track which was known for its very loose dirt surface, however the club converted the track to a super nice but bumpy Astro turf track. Xray’s Hupo Hönigl made a clean sweep in the tricky high speed and high grip conditions, winning every single practice, qualifying and final run to take the wins in both the 2WD and 4WD Mod Buggy classes. Team Associated’s Peter Pinisch came in 2nd in 2WD from Lucas Grainer (Yokomo) 3rd while in 4WD the podium was rounded out by Yokomo’s Thomas Pumpler and AE’s Peter Pinisch.

2018 Shizuoka Hobby Show – Kyosho

Kyosho, beside Tamiya, are another big player that lacks to present ground breaking new kits at this week’s Shizuoka Hobby Show, however a couple of new items are on show such as an exquisitely looking NSX GT3 body shell for 200mm cars or the refurbished and already introduced Inferno Neo 3.0 1/8th nitro off-road buggy. Apart from that Kyosho are celebrating their hugely popular Mini-Z micro cars, that are around for nearly 20 years now, with several new body shell variants.

2018 Shizuoka Hobby Show – Tamiya

At this week’s 2018 Shizuoka Hobby Show in Japan industry icon Tamiya have several new cars on show. Already officially announced for this Summer is the TRF103 competition formula pan car kit that features a full carbon fibre double deck chassis, carbon and aluminium front suspension as well as link or T-bar rear suspension elements. Coming later this year is another body shell variant of the popular TT-02 entry-level chassis with the Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT Yaris WRC. Also coming soon are several option parts for the Dancing Rider trikes such as chrome-plated plastics, on-road and off-road tyres, as well as chrome body shells and also a RTR variant.

2018 Shizuoka Hobby Show – 3Racing

3Racing have several new items in show at the Shizuoka Hobby Show such as the Sakura FGX Evo formula kit. The vehicle sports a moulded monocoque chassis, in—line front and rear shock absorbers, a mid-rear motor layout and front and rear swaybars. Also on show is the Kit-Mini MG M-type 1/10th chassis with front motor, three wheelbase settings, fibreglass chassis and top deck as well as full ball bearings and front and rear swaybars. Last but not least is the Civic TCR M-chassis body shell with moulded side mirrors and rear wing as well as a comprehensive decal sheet.

Trinity Monster Horsepower pit mats

Coming from Trinity are their new Monster Horsepower pit mats in two dimensions. The larger one measures roughly 104x69cm while the smaller one comes out at 50x40cm. Both are made of gaming-grade mouse pad material, they sport vibrant full-colour prints and are they thin, lightweight, flexible, easy to fold, store, and carry.

2018 Shizuoka Hobby Show – Futaba

During this week’s Shizuoka Hobby Show Futaba are presenting several forthcoming new items such as the T7XC competition stick radio and the S-Bus compatible MC970CR brushless speed controller. As for the radio, Futaba’s new flagship stick transmitter is understood to offer similar features as the T7PX pistol-grip radio and it is usable with T-FHSS SR Super Response, T-FHSS, S-FHSS and FASST compatible receivers. A huge LC display dominates the front side of the transmitter that is customisable with a rear carbon fibre strap for easier handling. More information will become available in time for the release, however no official date is mentioned yet.

Beat1Racing 7.4V MP9 TKI4/3 receiver battery

Beat1Racing from Japan have introduced their new 7.4V 2S LiPo receiver battery pack specially made for the Kyosho MP9 TKI4 and TKI3 buggies as well as the GT3 on-road car. The battery measures 51x35x29mm and it weighs in at 95g. The high-capacity 2500mAh cells make for long run times and the pack comes pre-soldered with a 100mm universal-type receiver lead and 40mm XH balancer wire.
