Zero Tribe T4 FWD conversion kit – Coming soon

Back in February Japanese brand Zero Tribe released a first rendering of their FWD conversion kit for the Xray T4 4WD touring car and now the project seems to materialise. Designed for 2016 and 2017 spec T4 kits, the conversion will allow to build a competition spec front wheel drive car utilising 4WD donor parts such as A-arms, steering components, bulkhead and drivetrain parts from existing T4 kits while the conversion kit will include items such as a purpose-designed carbon fibre main chassis plate, a new motor mount, new front upper bulkhead caps as well as new carbon fibre shock towers, an updated bumper and some drivetrain components. The kit is close to being production ready as are option parts such as as different carbon fibre upper deck, aluminium front anti-roll bar mounts, 15g and 30g balance weights, carbon steel rear axle shafts and a carbon fibre battery mount set.

Castle Creations B-Link Bluetooth adapter

Castle Creations have introduced their new B-Link Bluetooth adapter for the use with their range of speed controllers. The Castle Link ESC tuning is an essential component for customising vehicle performance. While the controllers are plug and play, optimising a Castle ESC through the Castle Link Programming Suite unlocks the full range of capabilities. Users enjoy the ability to adjust many variables to enhance their experience including throttle, braking curve, drag brake, reverse type and more. The Bluetooth adapter enables users to wirelessly program settings on current Castle Creations ESCs, many older models and the BEC 2.0/BEC Pro on Apple iOS devices. The free Castle Link app for iOS is available on the Apple App Store for use with iPhones and iPads, and once downloaded, it does not require a data connection and can be used anywhere, including remote areas. For Android users, a version of the app will be released at a future date, and the B-Link adapter will be compatible.

Trinity Punisher Spec class brushless motors

Coming soon from Trinity is the new Punisher Spec class sensored brushless motors. Designed with racers and track owners in mind, the Spec class stock motor offers true zero point, yet infinite timing adjustment, an updated sensor board design as well as an open bearing on the sensor end for easy cleaning and oiling. Lower resistance solder tabs and maximised can cooling vents, a newly designed low resistance stator and a 12.5mm high torque rotor round out the package. The motor is available soon in 13.5T and 17.5T variants.

Regalado & Apolaro win at Wallace Racing Challenge

The 1st Annual Wallace Racing Challenge was held at the World famous Full Throttle RC Raceway with over 65 drivers descended upon Kissimmee, Florida for four intense days of 1/8th, 1/8th GT and 1/10th scale Nitro R/C racing. 1/8th Open, also known as the F1 of R/C, was the premier class of the weekend. Gianni Giorgio would take the TQ and in the main Gianni would get off to a good start but would run into mechanical issues only 12 laps into the race. This would lead Roniel Regalado, Walo Walker and Paolo Morganti to battle it out for the lead. The race came down to pit strategy and fuel gun races. Big money was up for grabs and everyone was battling it out on the track for top honors. In the end Roniel Regalado would hold on to take the win with Walo Walker in 2nd and Paolo Morganti in 3rd.

Dutch Electric On-road Nationals Rd1 – Report

Last weekend the opening round of the Dutch Electric On-road Nationals was held at the popular Apeldoorn track. 42 driver signed in to race in the four classes of Touring Modified, Touring Stock, Formula and a supporting 1/8th Electric class. In Touring Modified it was Sidney Blokker who set the pace followed by Rick v.d. Akker. Due to some incidents for Sidney he was only able to come in 3rd overall as Rick was able to climb the top step of the podium followed by Goof in 2nd place, the latter showing a steady race as he took profit of some issues of Sidney.

SWorkz S35 series FF & FR brass lower arm mounts

MW RC Cars have introduced new SWorkz front-front and rear-front lower arm mounts made from brass and fitting the S35 series of vehicles. Both weigh in at 25g each, they come laser-engraved for easy identification and the suspension hangers help to fine-tune the weight distribution of kits such as the S35-3, S35-3E, S35-T, S35-TE and S35-GT/GTE.

Bill Shepherd wins 40+ at R/C Pro Series Rd1

Round 1 of the R/C Pro Series was held at T&T R/C Hobbies in Shreveport, Louisiana last weekend. In the 40+ Nitro Buggy class Bill Shepherd would take the overall TQ after a clean sweep in all three qualifiers and he would also come out fastest in the A-main to take the day’s win.
