Infinity Prostock Series Rd1 & Rd2 – Report

The TRAP RC Venue in South Africa played host to the first and second round of their 3-race Infinity Prostock Series for Touring Modified, Touring Stock and Formula classes. The Touring Modified round 1 A-Main saw current South-African champ, Hein Kotze (Xray) leading the way to grab the TQ and win for the day. Former champ Jason Hillcoat (Infinity) had a rough time looking for the perfect setup. He only managed 6th in qualifying but would recover in the A-main to take the overall runner-up spot. Ashley Hurley kept Hein honest in qualifying but had to leave when the main races started. Antonio Caroli (Xray) managed a 3rd overall in the race.

Modify Formula front & rear wings

Modify from Japan have introduced their new front and rear wings for 1/10th formula cars. The parts are made of high-quality polystyrene material and they offer the ability to fine-tune the aerodynamics by utilising add-on flaps for the front wing and making use of an adjustable upper portion on the rear wing. The wings are available in black or white colour and fit most of today’s 1/10th formula cars.

Huge RC Nitro Grand Prix 2018 – Report

The Huge RC Nitro Grand Prix 2018 was held this past weekend at Huge RC’s indoor asphalt track in Bangkok, Thailand and in four different nitro on-road classes. The premier 1/8 GP category was dominated by Meen Vejrak. He took the TQ spot followed by Varut P. and Punyavit Phungchittisarn. During the 45-minute main final, Meen ran clean and perfectly and led all the way from start to the finish line. Varut P. came in 2nd and Mark KV. completed the top 3 results. Punyavit Phungchittisarn and Tanat I. rounded out the podium finish.

Wang, Clements & Young win at CTS3 opener

Round 1 of CTS3 was held at Rise Up Hobbytown in Palm Desert, California this past weekend. The inaugural race for the facility was perfect and designed well. For Modified Touring, it was Team Xray driver JJ Wang who showed a dominant performance clinching the TQ honors and A-main followed by Awesomatix driver Brandon Clements and defending Champion Rick Hohwart.

Sanwa MX-6 entry-level FH-E radio system

Coming soon from Sanwa is the new MX-6 3-channel FH-E entry-level radio system. The transmitter uses a compact and lightweight case that houses an LCD screen and the new FH-E frequency hopping transmitting system for glitch-free operation. Standard features include dual rate, end point adjustment, exponential, anti-lock brakes, trim, sub trim, reverse and ten model memory including model name. The radio set includes the RX-391 receiver that is also available as waterproof RX-391W variant.

Jared Tebo doubles at Top Notch Tour Rd8

Round 8 of the Top Notch Tour was held at Thunder Alley Raceway in Beaumont, California this past Saturday and in the Expert Nitro Buggy A-main it was Kyosho’s Jared Tebo with the win. HB Racing’s Colin Herzog would take the runner-up spot while Mugen’s Anthony Westergaard rounded out the top 3 podium result. Over in Open E-Buggy it was again Jared with the win, leaving behind Andrew Trotter (Tekno) in 2nd and Miguel Perez (Mugen) in 3rd.

T-Works introduce new BD8-2018 alloy options

T-Works have introduced new aluminium option parts for the Yokomo BD8-2018 touring car in the form of front aluminium spool cups as well as anti-roll bar rods. The spool cups are designed for the use with C-shaped driveshafts pin protectors while the 13.8mm and 16.8mm swaybar rods lower the unsprung weight. All parts are machined from high-quality 7075-T6 aluminium and they come hard-anodised for wear.

STRC Venture FJ brass suspension parts

ST Racing Concepts have introduced a range of new brass suspension option parts for the HPI Venture FJ truck. Featuring a front lower shock mount/panhard mount, rear lower shock mounts, front steering knuckles and C-hub carriers, the CNC machined brass components add significant weight in strategic location on the scale crawler providing more stability during steep climbs and also greatly improves the durability. A total combine weight increase of over 160g can be achieved with these brass option parts. They are available in black to keep the realistic looks for the scale rig.
