During last weekend’s German 4WD Off-road Nationals not only 4WD Modified and Stock classes were run but also a 2WD Stadium Truck category. Jörn Neumann, who ran a Team Durango truck, would take the overall win, following 1st place finishes in A1 and A2, from the Xray duo of Jens Becker and Kim Sitensky. Kai Dittes (Xray) and Stefan Mößner (Team Associated) rounded out the podium result.
Following the 14-20mm adjustable ride height gauge, Hudy now also have a 20-30mm variant available. Utilising the same compact design, the gauge is suitable for 1/10th and 1/8th scale off-road vehicles and it is very easy to use thanks to the laser-etched height markings and the screw-type design that allows to adjust the required ground clearance by unscrewing the upper cap and aligning the markings of the required ride height. The gauge is made of high-quality aluminium and it comes black anodised for wear and looks.

Coming from Castle Creations are two new Racing Editions controller and motor combos for 1/8th E-buggies. Both make use of the Mamba X sensored speed controller that features Castle Creations’s latest firmware for smooth yet powerful throttle and brake control, data logging capacities including motor and speedo temperature and it features a strong 5.25V-8.0V 8A BEC system. A waterproof aluminium housing makes for go-everywhere capabilities and it measures a compact 54.4×35.2×30.0mm while weighing in at 101g. Included in the set are either the ROAR Mod approved 1512-1800kv or ROAR Mod pending 1515-2200kv brushless 4-pole/12-slot motors.
Reedy’s Zappers Lithium batteries are now also available in a 4S LiHV version for 1/8th E-buggies and trucks. Originally referring to Reedy’s proprietary NiMH voltage enhancement technology, Zappers describe Reedy’s high-voltage LiPo battery chemistry. A 15.2V nominal voltage means that with a suitable charger, the battery can be safely charged to 17.4V total or 4.35V per cell. Even when the typical 16.8V or 4.2V/cell charging limit is enforced, the battery still offers a significant advantage thanks to a flatter discharge curve, which results in more voltage deeper into the race. A high-quality, durable hardcase helps prevent damage while embedded socket connectors keep power-robbing resistance to a minimum. A charge lead, balance lead, and male 5mm ESC connectors are included.

Available now from Fenix are high nose formula front wings. Made from sturdy ABS plastic and coming in black or white colour the wings also include additional flaps to fine-tune the aerodynamics. The wings can be run without the high nose support with the white one being dyeable using fabric dye.
Kyosho fans rejoice! The Japanese company has released two teaser videos to promote the forthcoming release of two vintage kits one of which seems to be the mighty Javelin – one of the most expensive vintage kits to buy these days. The first video pretty much tells it all as Kyosho aficionados will spot the buggy’s iconic cage while the second clip teases the release of a monster truck-ish type of vehicle.
