Takumi Matsuda wins at PGTC GP Series finale

The final round of the Japanese PGTC GP Series saw Serpent driver Takumi Matsuda walking away with the win in the 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring class. Takumi set the pace right from the start and he would end the A-main one lap in front of Shoki Takahata (KM) in second and Shinnosuke Yukoyama (Mugen) in third.

HB Racing have released a first teaser image of their forthcoming new 1/8th scale buggy. With no engine cooling head visible the bets are that the image is showing the long-awaited E817 E-Buggy that David Ronnefalk drove to EFRA 1/8th E-Buggy European Championship honours earlier this year. Cody King takes JBRL Nitro Series Expert Buggy title

The final round of the JBRL Nitro Series was held at the Pro-Line test track last weekend and the event saw former IFMAR World Champion, Cody King walking away with the overall title in the Expert Buggy class. Jeremy Kortz came in second overall with Shaun Kirkman rounding out the podium result in third.

Arrowmax sign World Champion David Ronnefalk

Arrowmax have announced the signing of Sweden’s David Ronnefalk to their team. The 2016 IFMAR 1/8th Nitro Buggy World Champion will be using the company’s range of tools and accessories and he joins an already high-class team of drivers such as Ronald Völker, Shin Adachi or Jörn Neumann. The HB Racing factory driver has the following to say about the deal:

I’m very happy to say that I will from now on be using tools and other accessories that Arrowmax has to offer. Well known for the unique design and good quality the tools are also very light which is good for travelling. As I have been using them since one week, I can tell you that they are awesome! XRS Slovakia Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Xray Racing Series Slovakia was held this past weekend at the world-famous Hudy Racing Arena in Trencin, Slovakia. The event attracted more than 130 drivers to compete in several electric on-road and off-road classes and the weekend kicked off on Friday with free practice. The Slovakian Series saw some rules updates for this season with Hudy tyres mandatory for all Touring classes as well as hand-out Hobbywing motors for the Stock and Formula categories. In the Touring Modified class the TQ position was obtained by Martin Hudy who won the qualifiers from young Oliver Havranek and Nico Haider. In the finals the top 3 would retain their positions with Martin Hudy taking the win from Oliver and Nico (all Xray).

Andreas Thrasyvoulou wins LRCC Championship Rd3

The third round of the LRCC Championshipn was held at the AG Metal Off-Road Track in Limassol, Cyprus in excellent weather conditions and on a re-built track. Xray driver Andreas Thrasyvoulou would take the TQ after the qualifiers and he also came out on top of the proceedings after the main final to take the day’s win from the Agama duo of Simos Tikkis and Sotiris Taifas.

Paul Ciccarello wins 13.5T 4WD Buggy at AE Champs

The recent 2016 Team Associated Off-road Championships were held at Trackside R/C in Brookfield, Wisconsin and in the 13.5T 4WD class it was Paul Ciccarello who grabbed the overall TQ after taking round TQs in three of the qualifiers. Paul would then also come out on top in the opening two A-mains to take the overall win from teammate Kyle Gannon.

MCD Racing Zenoah G320 aluminium insulator

MCD Racing have introduced an aluminium carburettor insulator for the Zenoah G320 engine. The aluminium construction fixes flexing issues associated with the standard composite part that can overheat during long runs. In addition the alloy part utilises two composite bushings that help with isolation for an overall better performing assembly and thus engine. Available are also separate sets of temperature plates and gaskets.
