Maifield doubles at ROAR 1/8 EP Off-road & SCT Nats

The 2016 ROAR 1/8 Electric Buggy/Truggy and 1/10 4×4 Modified Short Course National Championships were held this past weekend at Stateline R/C on the Michigan/Indiana border. In 1/8 E-Buggy TLR’s Ryan Maifield steered his buggy to the overall TQ in the class thanks to three round TQ’s while in 1/8 E-Truggy Ryan had to fend off attacks from TLR team mate Dakotah Phend who took Q2 but overall Ryan would take a second TQ that weekend thanks to also coming out fastest in Q4. In 1/10 4×4 Modified Short Course Ryan cemented his will to make it a triple by again taking the overall TQ and the pole position for the triple A-mains. With bad weather in the forecast for Sunday, ROAR made the decision to run the opening A-mains and some of the lower mains on Saturday which turned out to be a wise choice as indeed rain kicked in on Sunday, washing away any chances for more track time.

Riccardo Berton successful at Novarossi Trophy

The 2016 Novarossi Trophy was held at the pista Ospy Team di Gussago track in Gussago, Brescia over the weekend with some of the fastest Italian Nitro Off-road drivers in attendance. Kyosho’s Riccardo Berton was in control of things all weekend, taking the TQ and win in the Expert Buggy class from Mugen’s Davide Ongaro. Newly crowned 1/8th European Champion, Elliott Boots (Kyosh0) had to settle for third in the 45-minute A-main. Mattia Polito and Marco Natale would round out the top 5 result.

Thilo Tödtmann wins at Central German regionals

A round of the Central German Nitro On-road regionals, the qualifying series for the German Nationals, was held this past weekend at the MC Ettlingen track. In the 1/10th 200mm class Shepherd’s Dirk Wischnewski would take a close TQ from Capricorn driver Thilo Tödtmann while Rene Püpke (Shepherd) completed the top 3 result after the qualifiers. The main final then saw a close fight between Dirk and Thilo with the better end for Thilo as Dirk had to pull out of the race some 5 minutes before the end. Up front Thilo brought home the win some two laps in front of Shepherd’s own Patrick Schäfer while Jannick Namyslo (Xray) rounded out the top 3 result.

South German On-road Championship finale – Report

The final round of the South German On-road Championship was held in Singen, host of the German National Championships in a couple of weeks time. In the Touring Modified class, Tim Wahl made a clean sweep to take the TQ while also scoring the fastest lap. Markus Wegmann lined up in second from Florian Fink and Antonios Theofilou.

GQ Race Hong Kong Rd2 – Report

QC Race Hong Kong Rd2 – Report

Round 2 of the GQ Race Hong Kong was hosted the ACO Racing Track. The race was held in several on-road classes including Touring Modified, Touring 13.5T Blinky GT, 13.5T Blinky Racing Truck and also a Carisma RTR 13.5T Blinky Stock class. In the Modified class, that attracted a total of 30 entries, it was Chau Man who took the day’s win from Chi Fung and Ricky Wong in second and third respectively.

Georgiadis doubles at Greek Fanatix Race

The Fanatix Race was recently held at the Fanatix racing track in Greece. The event saw 1/10th Touring Modified, Touring Stock, Formula and Nitro Stock racing and in the Touring Modified class it was the Xray duo of Georgiadis and Papachristos who battled for the overall TQ with the better end for Georgiadis who would ultimately grab the pole position for the finals. Papachristos had to settle for second while Yokomo driver Amaxas rounded out the qualifying top 3.

Coelho wins static A1

Bruno Coelho took an easy win of a completely static A1 final at the Yokomo Euro Touring Series season finale at the Hudy Arena, with not one pass being executed over the 5-minutes as the 10 cars finished exactly as they qualified. Top Qualifier Coelho made an early break over Xray team-mate Alexander Hagberg allowing the newly crowned champion to cruise to a 1.3 second victory. 1.9-seconds back from Hagberg, Awesomatix’s Viljami Kutvonen completed the Top 3 with the Finn having no problems fending off the Yokomo of Ronald Volker. The only attempted pass of the race came from Yannic Prumper as the VBC driver tried to find a way passed Team Infinity’s Jilles Groskamp but the German couldn’t get it done.
