Roche Rapide F1 2.25mm carbon fibre chassis

Roche have introduced two new option parts for the Rapide F1 formula car. First up is the new low-traction carbon fibre chassis cut from 2.25mm material and best used on slippery asphalt tracks. The chassis was tested by Roche’s Olivier Bultynck at the recent fourth round of the ETS and it is complemented by the second new part, a suitable 2.25mm carbon fibre lower pod plate. The latter is necessary to achieve a properly aligned power pod when running the 2.25mm main chassis plate.

Jilles Groskamp dominates ULTI World Cup

The Marine Parade Radio Control Modellers Club in Singapore played host to the ULTI World Cup this past weekend. The event attracted some of the World’s fastest nitro on-road drivers such as Jilles Groskamp, Andy Moore, Teemo Leinoo and others. In the hour long 1/8th class A-main final, Jilles Groskamp came out successful from Charit in second, who ended the race some 2 laps short of Jilles. Jesse Davis completed podium result in third.

Stefan Schulz doubles at East German regionals Rd1

The first round of the East German regionals was held at the Bernau Motodrom. In the Electric Touring 13.5T class Stefan Schulz took the TQ and he easily won the A-main in front of Robert Komfort and Ralph Schmidt. The Formula class had Kai-Oliver Gutschau putting his car on the 1 spot for the finals but it was again Stefan Schulz who came out successful. Kai-O had to settle for second while Uwe Sieber completed the top 3 result. Elsewhere in the 1/8th Nitro On-road class Wilfried Stecker took the day’s win from Kosta Saritsaklis.

Monteiro successful at Portuguese Buggy Nats Rd2

The second round of the Portuguese 1/8th Off-road Nationals was held this past weekend in Guarda following a rained out and cancelled round one. Serpent driver Carlos Duares (Serpent) set the TQ in the qualifiers by winning all three rounds with Miguel Matias (HB) coming in second. In the 45 minute A-main the TQ holder suffered a flame-out which cost him dearly as Ricardo Monteiro (TLR) was able to take the win one lap ahead of Carlos. Miguel Matias took the third spot some 6 seconds short of the runner-up.

Round two of the Swiss Touring Nationals was held at the Schaffhausen track and in the Touring Pro Stock class it was Noah Asendorf (Xray) who grabbed the day’s win from second placed Marco Siegenthaler (HB). In third Marco Balmer (Team Magic), coming from the 4 spot on the grid, rounded out the podium result.

Rinderknecht & Vanderbeek win at AE Summer Series

Round 2 of the Team Associated Summer Series at the Hobby Plex in Omaha, NE had another good turnout, with 177 entrants competing on a fast and technical layout. Racers from Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Minnesota were on hand to battle it out for the top steps of the podium, and a chance to advance in the points standings. Alex Vanderbeek and Tom Rinderknecht took victories in all three of the premier Modified classes. Tom set the TQ in Mod 4WD, and took a commanding win over the field, “throwing big whips along the way,” in his words.

Canas takes surprise win at Spanish Buggy Nationals Rd2

Round two of the Spanish 1/8th Nitro Buggy National Championship was held in El Alamo, Madrid over the weekend. Mugen’s up and coming Juan Carlos Canas would take a popular overall TQ from team mate Bryan Baldo and SWorkz’ Albert Garcia. Multi-time national champion, Robert Batlle (Mugen) had to settle for fourth but he put things straight for the A-main when he placed his Ultimate-powered buggy on the pole position in front of Oscar Baldo, Juan Carlos and Bryan Baldo. The 45 minute main final held some nice battles for the front runner and the mid-pack and with pole position holder Robert running into trouble at some point it was Juan Carlos who took maximum profit of the situation, taking a great win over Robert Batlle with Bryan Baldo rounding out the podium result.
