Kosciuszek & Richards win at JConcepts Winter INS

Following some intense qualifying rounds at the 2016 JConcepts Winter Indoor National Series on Saturday, Sunday’s mains took that intensity and turned it up even further. From 9 am, the lower mains were ran to decide two bumps, giving racers a last chance effort to make the coveted A-mains. Taking the top 2 drivers in the lower mains, until the B-main which only took one single winner into the A making it a 10 + 1 grid. The JConcepts INS runs a slightly different format than the typical race. Triple A-mains are ran to decide the winner of the 2WD and 4WD Modified classes with the rest running one single 8 minute main that would test drivers’ limits.

Exotek Exo22SCT aluminium & carbon chassis kit

Exotek have introduced the Exo22SCT aluminium and carbon fibre conversion kit for the TLR22SCT and SCT 2.0. With its simple and efficient layout, the chassis design offers improved rearward weight positioning of the battery and electronics to better suit a variety of track conditions while also allowing for the faster and easier to drive side ways mounted shorty battery positioning. The chassis set includes the machined and black anodised 2.5mm 7075 aluminium main chassis, 5mm carbon side rails and a redesigned battery mount that also acts as the top deck. The increased chassis footprint allows for more electronic layout options and proper weight balancing while maintaining a low centre of gravity. The conversion kit is available soon and it requires a TLR22SCT or SCT 2.0 truck in mid motor configuration.

Ty Tessmann doubles at Sin City Nitro Encounter

The Sin City Nitro Encounter was held this past weekend at the RC Tracks Las Vegas. The event attracted some of the country’s fastest drivers and also guests from abroad, all of which already focus on the IFMAR 1/8 Gas World Championships that will be held at the same venue in October. The Expert Buggy class had Ty Tessmann (HB) coming out fastest in the main final after starting from the 2 spot on the grid. Top Qualifier Spencer Rivkin (Team Associated) put his usual 1/10th scale buggies aside this weekend to finish on the runner-up spot, just in front of Mugen’s Adam Drake. Ryan Lutz (Tekno) would finish on the fourth place with Xray’s Josh Wheeler rounding out the top 5 result.

Pablo Ortuno joins Agama Racing

Agama Racing have announced the signing of Spanish driver Pablo Ortuno to their team. Following campaigns for American and Japanese brands, Pablo is now back with Agama to run the company’s A215 1/8th nitro buggy in the Spanish national series.

Serpent sign Fabian Vernersson

Serpent have announced the signing of young Fabian Vernersson to their electric on-road team. A former Serpent privateer Fabian will now get the full team treatment for his upcoming campaign that will include events such as the South Swedish Indoor Cup, the Swedish Outdoor Championship and possibly also selected ETS races.

Riccardo Berton wins Montpellier GP

The annual Montpellier GP was held in France this weekend, attracting the usual breed of national and international top drivers. Kyosho’s Riccardo Berton would take the TQ and he would take the overall win in the 1 hour final, some 15 seconds in front of runner-up, Yannick Aigoin (Xray). Rayan Medjoubi (Kyosho) rounded out the podium result from 4th placed Jerome Sartel (TLR).

Coelho wins A2 with faultless drive

Having rolled his Xray on the first lap of the opening A-Main at ETS Germany, Bruno Coelho put in a faultless A2 drive to win comfortably ahead of A1 winner Alexander Hagberg and Ronald Volker. While the Top Qualifier ran an error free race the same couldn’t be said for others with Marc Rheinard, Viljami Kutvonen and Yannic Prümper all breaking their cars. Prümper wouldn’t even last a lap, an error sending him right into the path of 10th place start Marco Kaufmann with the massive impact putting both cars out in the spot.

Hagberg wins A1

Alexander Hagberg took an easy win in the opening A-Main at the Yokomo Euro Touring Series this morning in Germany, a first lap error from Top Qualifier Bruno Coelho handing the Swede an unassailable lead. Behind the Xray driver, Marc Rheinard would survive a first lap error of his own, out of which Ronald Volker came off worst, to finish second. Starting 6th on the grid, Akio Sobue would complete the Top 3, the Tamiya driver seeing off Viljami Kutvonen and the recovering Yokomos of Volker and Yannic Prümper.
