Speedmaster Japan long & short touring car springs

Speedmaster Japan have introduced their new silver-colour shock springs for 1/10th touring cars. Developed by the people behind the highly popular HPI silver springs the Speedmaster Japan items will offer improved materials, dimensions and surface treatment to allow for highest precision and on-track performance. Coming in standard as well as short 20mm specification the colour coded springs are available as pairs or 3-piece combo sets. The range will include TL2.8/6.75, TL3.0/6.5 and TL3.2/6.25 “long” springs made from 1.5mm wire while the “short” springs are available as TS2.8/5.75, TS3.0/5.5 and TS3.2/5.25 variants made from 1.4mm wire.

Picco wins as Vanni takes Italian Championship

Alberto Picco completed another perfect weekend of racing, taking the win at the final round of the Italian 1/8th Nitro On-road Championship over Mirko Salemi and local racer Morgan Renzi at the end of an outstanding 60-minute long final in which he again proved himself and his package very competitive. Behind the top three it was veteran racer Marco Vanni to finish fourth after a highly conservative race, with the Shepherd driver collecting enough points to conquer the overall title ahead of Picco.

Timo Engelstätter wins at BIG Return Race

The BIG Return Race was held at the newly built BIG Hamburg track in Hamburg-Stapelfeld this past weekend. The race was highly anticipated as the traditional club was left without a track for several years due to loosing their old location for various reasons. The event was held in 1/8th Nitro and Electric classes and in the Nitro Buggy category it was Kyosho’s Timo Engelstätter (Kyosho/AKA) who came out successful from Lujas Strothmann (Mugen/AKA) and young Burak Kilic (TLR/Beta). Jan Sievert (Mugen/AKA) and Marcel Paul (SOAR/AKA) rounded out the top 5 result.

Tasos Paparegas takes Greek 1/8th Buggy title

The final round of the Greek 1/8th Buggy National Championship was held at the Hobbytech track in Serres. Kyosho driver Papanikolaou took the pole position for the main final in front of Tasos Paparegas (Xray) and Makropoulos (Radiosistemi) and in the main final Tasos brought home the win with a 5 lap margin on Makropoulos. Tasos’ brother John (Xray) would round out the top 3 result. With the win Tasos secured himself another Greek National title in the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class.

Ginting & Seta win at Indonesian EP On-road Nats Rd4

The fourth round of the Indonesian EP On-road National Championship took place at Sigma Progresif Circuit in Bandung, West Java with 45 entries for the three classes of Touring Car 13.5T Boosted, FWD and Mini. The Touring Boosted class was dominated by Bowie Ginting who took the pole position for the A-mains while Arya Seta took the TQ in the FWD class. At the end Bowie came out successful in the finals also as he took the day’s win from Suwardi Suliandy in second and Peter Anthonijsz in third.

Jiri Mara crowned Czech National Nitro Buggy Champ

The final round of the Czech National 1/8th Off-road Championship was held this past weekend at the Horni Jeleni tack. In the Nitro Buggy class Serpent’s Jiri Mara made a clean sweep by taking the TQ after the qualifiers and winning the 30 minute main final in front of Max Gotzl (Xray) in second and Kaja Novotny (Team Durango) in third. The win also handed Jiri the overall championship title from Kaja on the runner-up spot and Max, who rounded out the podium in third place.

Fantom Racing FR-1 540-size brushless motors

Fantom Racing have introduced their all-new FR-1 540-size brushless motors. Developed on the USA, the motors feature purpose-designed stators made from premium Japanese Kawasaki steel to cover different wind motors and their intended uses. Despite just varying stack heights, Fantom uses different designs with the Type T being used in the 10.5T spec motor as well as the 2.5T to 9.5T modified variants while the Type R rotor comes into play for the 21.5T and 25.5T motors. The 13.5T and 17.5T variants are available either with the Type T or Type R configurations. All motors are built using premium grade Neodymium magnets and they come engraved with the Fantom logo and specifications.
