Austrian Electric On-road Nationals Rd2 – Report

Austrian Electric On-road Nationals Rd2 – Report

The second round of the Austrian Electric On-road Nationals was held at the countryside track of the SFMAV near Salzburg. Overall 40 racers attended this round in the classes of Touring Car Modified, Touring Car Stock and Formula. With the beginning of the qualification heats rain started to fall, but with an one hour delay the qualifiers were started and beside one short interruption the race would go ahead as planned. In Touring Car Modified Dominic Vogl was the man to beat. Again he and his Yokomo performed impressively. As in the first round Dominic had some issues in the qualification heats, but he finally took the TQ with the fastest heat and fastest lap of the race as Dominic was the one and only driver in Modified who was able to go 20 laps. Mario Sowka would line up in 2nd, followed by Christoph Ramsauer and Toni Eder. In the finals Dominic was unbeatable and he made a clean sweep in A1 and A2. Mario won the A3 and therefore he got the overall runner up spot followed by Toni, both running on Serpent.

JConcepts B5M aluminium wing mounts & buttons

JConcepts B5M aluminium wing mounts & buttons

Coming from JConcepts and made for the Team Associated B5M buggy is an aluminium wing mounts and buttons set. The rear wing mount of the B5M vehicle is under a serious load during crashes and inevitable direct landings so JConcepts has beefed up the wing mount area with the introduction of the aluminium mounts specifically designed for this buggy. Made from CNC-machined aluminium and available in blue and black colour, these mounts are designed in a creative but functional way to add rigidity to a high-impact area. A direct bolt-on part adds security, high-end looks and peace of mind for the hard-core basher and racer. Securing the wing to the mounts is made easy with the included Finnisher style aluminium wing buttons which accept a 3mm flat head screw. The use of these parts in conjunction with JConcept’s optional aluminium wing shim adds durability and a direct clamp to the assembly. The added boss on the wing mounts also aligns the pre-cut B5M Hi-Clearance wing perfectly for a show quality look, fit and finish.

The maiden season of the Swiss 1/8th Electric Buggy Championship kicked off at the MORC Oberbüren with about 30 drivers attending the event. The schedule saw two separate races to be held on Saturday and Sunday and the nice weather made for good racing conditions on both days. The race format had the EFRA 1/8th electric rules used with endless qualifying runs and 10-minute bump-up finals. Robin Frischkopf grabbed the pole position for Saturday’s main final during which he wasn’t the quickest but Robin did not make a single mistake and kept the lead despite pressure from Sandro Bamert and team mate Romeo Grass who were a few tenths quicker but less consistent.
