JConcepts, in conjunction with R/C Madness in Enfield, Connecticut, introduce the 1st Annual Outdoor Turf Nationals (September 12-13, 2015). The dedicated AstroTurf surface created by Chris Marcy combines a large outdoor venue with the grippy green surface used at international events around the world including the 2015 IFMAR World Championships. An experience like none other gives racers the unique opportunity to test their skills on the Turf while negotiating the course at roaring speed. A multitude of classes are offered for all skill level and accomplishment. JConcepts control tires will be utilized in the 2wd and 4wd buggy classes while stadium truck, SCT and a special worlds class will allow open tires. Protoform Chevy Camaro Z/28 190mm body

New for USGT and Scale Spec racing Protoform have released their officially-licensed rendition of the Chevy Camaro Z/28 for 190mm touring car. A lowered stance, enlarged front splitter, signature silver “Flow-tie” grill emblem and integrated decklid spoiler enhance the aerodynamic performance and aesthetic style. The body includes add-on rear wing with two trim lines, injection molded struts and a race-inspired decal sheet and is produced in genuine, durable .030” Lexan and comes with protective overspray film, window masks, decal sheet and hardware to mount the struts and wing.

Mckune Design Shorty weight plate

Mckune Design have released their new simple Low Centre of Gravity shorty weight plate. The plates are made from super thin .75mm thick brushed stainless steel, yet still weigh 25 grams each. They will fit under any 2S shorty LiPo and can be stacked for additional weight.

Magnus Vässmar wins 2015 Swedish TC title

Last weekend the Swedish Nationals was held at the newly resurfaced Skarpnack track in Stockholm. The track was really in super condition, super flat and high traction and the weather was also great with the sun out all weekend. The total entries was quite low it was a quality field with Niclas Nilsson (Serpent), Alex Andersson (Yokomo), Andreas Johansson (Serpent), Markus Elmerfors (Xray) and Magnus Vässmar (Schumacher) all looking fast after Friday’s practise. Qualifying kicked off on Saturday with 3 out of 5 rounds counting and it was Magnus who took 2 from 3 rounds on Saturday leaving the TQ to be decided in Sunday’s 2 remaining rounds. Niclas had 1 TQ and Alex two 2nds overnight.

Teamsaxo F1-200-V2 upgrade car kit

Teamsaxo have released this new V2 version of their F1-200 upgrade car kit which transforms the F1-200 into having a 199mm wide track width and a 266mm wheelbase. Along with the new lightweight chassis plate, this V2 version includes a new ackermann servo saver as well as servo mount together with a new upper pod plate and rear battery mount for different battery layout configurations.

2015 Futaba/O.S. Racing Nitro Challenge report

The 2015 Futaba/O.S. Racing Nitro Challenge is in the books and it was an incredible event and this year featured an excellent but challenging track from Sik Track Designs (AKA Levi Jackson). With all the top guns from the Midwest and factory drivers Ryan Lutz, Joe Bornhorst, Josh Wheeler, Matt Gosch, and Michael Paige, the competition was going to be tough. The format for this race is different than most races with practice on Thursday evening and on Friday. With the first round of qualifying on Friday night under the lights. The final 2 round of qualifying on Saturday and the raffle, Dash for Cash, and all the mains on Sunday. This race features double A Mains for both Pro Buggy, Pro Truck, and E Buggy.
