Dutch Electric On-road Nationals Rd4 – Report

Dutch Electric On-road Nationals Rd4 – Report

Round four of the Dutch Electric On-road Nationals was held at the RACO2000 track in Utrecht. The weather forecast for Saturday wasn’t very promising, so only a few drivers joined the open practice for testing and track time. In the morning it was dry, but around noon the clouds opened and the practice was washed away by a lot of rain. Most drivers packed their stuff and went home beside three brave guys who ultimately quit around 3 pm when things got even worse with a lot of wind and even more rain. On Sunday thankfully things were a lot different from the day before with nice and sunny weather. After three rounds of qualifying the Touring Modified class had Rob Janssen (Team Magic) taking the TQ from Jetze Reitsma (Spec-R) and Richard Arts (Tamiya). Touring Stock 13.5 saw Sybrand de Boer (Tamiya) coming out fastest from Fokke Groen (Xray) and Rick van den Akker (Xray). Finally in the Formula class Martijn van der Heijden (Xray) took the pole position for the finals from Axel Kleingeld (CRC) and Tim Jansen (Serpent).

Elliott Boots wins washed away BRCA Buggy Rd4

Elliott Boots wins washed away BRCA Buggy Rd4

Round four of the BRCA 1/8th Nitro Buggy Nationals was held at the Herts Nitro Model Club this past weekend. Unfortunately the British weather played havoc this weekend with over 80mm of rain on Friday into Saturday. The HNMC cleared the track at 6am Saturday morning and the first round of qualifying was damp and it even turned into a dry track by round 2. At the end rounds 1 and 2 were TQed by Boots, round 3 was a tie between Boots and Cragg, round 4 went to Darren Bloomfield and round 5 to Kevin Brunsden. There was uncertainty about the weather on Sunday morning and rain set in at about 10:30 am but as it became heavier the event was stopped and after a delay the event was taken on qualifying handing Elliot Boots the win from 2nd placed Darren Bloomfield and Jack Embling in 3rd.

Thanks to James Thompson for the report.

SWorkzS104Evo-7

Following first S104 Evo prototype images that surfaced back in January SWorkz now have more photos of their forthcoming 1/10th 4WD electric off-road buggy available. Information on the kit are still vague with the only definite features announced yet being the FCSS aluminium chassis, new big bore shock absorbers and a 3-diff drivetrain. Looking at the images the buggy will also sport a floating servo mount, semi-gloss carbon fibre parts and a dedicated electronic layout for shorty LiPo battery packs. More information and images should become available in time for the release in mid-August.
