Hobbywing Xerun XR8 Plus brushless speed controller

Coming soon from Hobbywing is the Xerun XR8 Plus brushless speed controller for 1/8th scale applications. The 6S LiPo-compatible ESC offers a highly efficient heat dissipation system, a 15A BEC system with selectable 6V or 7.2V output and an advanced electronic switch with improved durability compared to standard mechanical switches. The controller is usable with sensorless brushless motors as well as Hobbywing’s forthcoming new 1/8th sensored motor which can be run in a so called full-sensored mode. More information and the specifications will become available in time for the release.

New BMT 984 chassis & suspension parts

BMT have new option parts for the 984 1/8th scale nitro on-road car available. First up are a flex chassis and an updated radio plate. The parts will improve the torsional flex of the car for improved performance especially on low-grip tracks and when the use of additives is not allowed. Also new is a front shock absorber support, a part that also targets towards low-grip track conditions.

Arrowmax Increased Torque Honeycomb hex wrenches

New from Arrowmax comes the Increased Torque line of Honeycomb series tools. They combine the appearance of a standard hex driver with the torque of a T-handle tool by allowing to swing the tool tip by a total of 180 degrees. This helps to apply more torque to loosen even the most stubborn screws. The wrenches are available with 2.5mm and 3.0mm hex tip.

Serpent F110 SF2 front tube damper set

New from Serpent and made for the F110 SF2 formula car is a tube front damper system. Designed to bolt right onto the front suspension of the SF2 kit, the set will add another tuning option to the car for even greater versatility. Included with the set come all needed parts including machined and anodised aluminium tubes, composite ball cups and mounting hardware with all parts also being available as spares.

Nitro Series Espanolas Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Nitro Series Espanilas, a new championship based on the Euro Nitro Series format, was held at the VillaReal track, home of the 2008 European Touring Car Championships. The event, that was run in a single 200mm class, saw some novelties for a Spanish race such as a control tyre, made by Matrix, and a qualifying points system among other news; such as a car chase challenge called Desafio. The race attracted a good amount of drivers including local talent and internationally experienced drivers such as 2014 200mm Spanish Champion and Euros runner-up Edu Escandon, former Champion Jonhy Pastor and former Spanish Touring Car Champ Juan Hidalgo. The TQ honours were taken by Edu who also set the fastest lap and new track record with his Novarossi-powered KM car, followed by Jonhy Pastor (Mugen/Novarossi), Juan Hidalgo (Mugen/Novarossi) and David Cuesta (Mugen/Novarossi). Following the qualifying the “Desafio Challenge” was held and it was Ruben Marco (Shepherd/Picco) who came in 1st after a faultless drive.

Serpent Eryx 411 adjustable battery holders

Serpent have introduced a new set of adjustable battery holders for the Eryx 411 touring car. Including aluminium mounting brackets and carbon fibre battery stops the LiPo battery mounts allow to move the pack by a total of 3mm forth and back in order to fine-tune the weight distribution of the chassis. Milled slots allow the use of most of today’s fibre glass tapes. The set includes all needed hardware and it may also fit other brand’s cars.
