VBC Racing Lightning10 200mm World GT kit

VBC Racing Lightning10 200mm World GT kit

Following first teaser renderings VBC Racing now officially introduce the Lightning10 200mm World GT pan car kit. Based on a 2.5mm carbon fibre chassis the car offers a fully adjustable front end that allows for track width, caster, reactive caster and camber adjustments while two different servo mounts take standard or mini-size servos. The wheelbase is adjustable to suit US WGT or Europan pan car racing while special rear axle height adjusters make the usage of a wider range of tyre diameters possible. The suspension package is rounded out by dual roll dampers and two mounting positions for the side springs make adoption to various track conditions easy. The car can be run with shorty or 1S battery packs while chassis cut-outs allow the use of an optional brass weight system to fine-tune the balance. The car has already proven its performance by taking the win at the 2014 IIC in the hands of Max Kuenning and it becomes available by the beginning of November.

Reflex Racing RSD TC6.2 carbon fibre bulkhead braces

Reflex Racing RSD TC6.2 carbon fibre bulkhead braces

Reflex Racing’s RSD bulkhead braces for the Team Associated TC6.2 were developed in order to change the flex characteristics of the car. By bracing the bulkheads at the top deck screws, the flex points of the chassis are moved closer to the centre line, which increases high speed stability and control. Additionally the braces provide more on power traction at whichever end they are being used. When using both stiffeners, the car will stay a little bit flatter at high speed, will be easier on tires, the response will increase in tight corners and the car will be easier to drive in sweeping corners. Machined from high-quality carbon fibre the braces are a direct fit and they come as a set of two.

Soren Boy Holst wins Super Stock at Danish nats Rd1

Soren Boy Holst wins Super Stock at Danish nats Rd1

The first indoor race of the Danish electric on-road season was held in the city of Randers on a purpose-built track. The carpet used caused a lot of problems for the drivers as the long hair made for changing grip conditions and tons of broken ball bearings. In the Super Stock class it was Soren Boy Holst (T.O.P.) who was in control of things as he was quick right from the start and he also took all three qualifying rounds to grab the pole position for the finals. Niklas Engholm (Awesomatix) put his car in 2nd place while Mad Callesen (Serpent) rounded out the top 3.

Borja Hernandez wins finale in Fuencarral

Borja Hernandez wins finale in Fuencarral

The final round of the Spanish 1/8th Nitro Buggy National Championship was held this past weekend in Fuencarral. With the absence of Robert Batlle (Mugen), who already secured the championship, it was time for the “best of the rest” to show their skills and to score maximum points for the championship. Oscar Baldo (Mugen) soon made his ambitions clear by taking the TQ after the qualifiers and he would also start from pole position into the final. Borja Hernandez (Mugen) had other plans though as it was him and SWorkz’ Andres Marcelino who battled for the lead for a good part of the 45 minute final and at the end Borja took the win only 1.3 seconds on front of Andres. Behind the two Oscar Navarro (Serpent) completed the podium in 3rd.

Sergio Montesinos wins Spanish 1/8th on-road title

Ignacio Montesinos wins Spanish 1/8th on-road title

Mugen driver Sergio Montesinos is the 2014 Spanish 1/8th on-road champion despite only coming in 6th at the final round in Elche. The opening round of the championship, run in Madrid, saw Sergio ending on the runner-up spot despite a broken glow plug on his O.S. engine. Round 2, held in Valencia, had the Mugen driver end the main final in 3rd place but a TQ and a win at race number 3 secured him the championship early. The final race was held in Elche and very unstable weather with rain on Saturday and during the main final spoiling any chances of another victory but with the championship already secured Sergio could take it easy in the final.

Thanks to Ignacio Montesinos for sending the report.
