Martin claims first EOS double

Martin claims first EOS double

Lee Martin claimed his first double of the Euro Offroad Series with the Yokomo driver adding his first ever 4WD win to a third 2WD win yesterday at Round 3 of the championship in Wels, Austria.  Only the 4th driver to do the double in the EOS’ 14 race history, the British ace completed the perfect weekend when he claimed Yokomo’s second ever 4WD victory with another dominant win in A2.  The win puts the newly crowned 2WD Champion in contention to do the title double as the championship moves next to the Hudy Arena in Slovakia for the Season #4 finale.  Joining Martin on the podium would be the Xray’s pairing of Martin Bayer and Martin Wollanka, Bayer winning the final race of the day ahead of defending champion Joern Neumann who would finish 5th overall on his Serpent debut.

Yannick Aigoin wins rained out French Buggy Opener

Yannick Aigoin wins rained out French Buggy Opener

The opening round of the French 1/8th Nitro Off-Road Nationals was held this weekend. Severe rainfall made things unpleasant and only three rounds of qualifying could be completed on Saturday. On Sunday the track was found to be in very muddy condition and thus the race was stopped in the morning and the qualifying results were taken to determine the winner. With two TQs in the qualifiers Yannick Aigoin (Team Associated) took the win from his brother Jerome (Kyosho) with HB’s Reno Savoya rounding out the podium in 3rd.

Martin cruises to A1 win in Austria

sun_leeA1

Lee Martin cruised to an easy unchallenged win in the opening 4WD A-Main at the Euro Offroad Series in Austria this afternoon but behind the Yokomo driver there was plenty of action to entertain the large crowd of onlookers.  Starting from pole position, Martin quickly established a lead as behind a slow starting David Ronnefalk came under pressure from the Xray of Martin Bayer.  In the battle the two would make contact which would also hold up Martin Wollanka allowing the Schumacher of Michal Orlowski to slip through to second place, where he would stay till the finish with Bayer to complete the Top 3 1.1-seconds back.  Starting from the back of the grid Serpent’s Joern Neumann would enjoy a great race to finish fourth after seeing off the challenges of Team Associated’s Patrick Hofer.

Martin on target for EOS Wels clean sweep with 4WD TQ

Lee Martin is on target for a clean sweep at Round 3 of the Euro Offroad Series in Wels, Austria, with the Yokomo driver locking up the overall TQ in 4WD with one round still to run.  Having started off the 4WD action at the ‘Modellbau Wels’ Hobby Show event by taking the opening qualifier, yesterday’s 2WD winner backed that up with two more TQ runs to claim his first Top Qualifier honours in 4WD.  Behind, it was Martin Bayer who again was the British driver’s closest rival in Q2 while in Q3 David Ronnefalk was second fastest with Martin declaring that for the finals he is most worried about the potential challenge of the Swede.

Martin kicks off 4WD with TQ run

Martin kicks off 4WD with TQ run

Newly crowned 2WD Euro Offroad Series champion Lee Martin got the 4WD action underway at Round 3 in Wels, Austria, in the best way possible this morning as he TQ’d the opening round of qualifying.  Having took the 2WD win yesterday and with it the 2014/15 title, the Yokomo driver topped the times by 3.8 seconds from Xray’s Martin Bayer with the HB of qualifying top seed David Ronnefalk completing the Top 3, a further half a second off.  For defending champion Joern Neumann, who is making his Serpent debut in the championship this weekend the opening qualifier looked set to net him a Top 3 run but a mistake right on his last lap right before the timing loop dropped the German to 7th.
