Tekno locking spring perches & rubber shock boots

Tekno RC have new option parts for their line of 1/8th and 1/10th vehicles available. First up is the locking shock rod ends and spring perch set. The all-new design mates up with the company’s new captured shock boots and it will ensure the suspension stays consistent throughout any race or run. The spring perches rest on a shelf around the rod end instead of directly on top of the rod end. The result is less interference from the shock boot and absolutely no sacrifice in up travel. Each spring perch and rod end is also secured by an M3x10mm set screw for added reliability. The rod ends and spring perches are compatible with Tekno’s 1/8th off-road buggies and trucks as well as their 1/10th 4WD SC truck.

Shay Brand TQ’s and wins at the Run For The Riches

ROCCK Racing located in Knoxville, TN hosted their Run for the Riches “Part Deux” event. With a $2,400 purse and many regional fast guys, the racing was going to be close. Their covered facility at Chilhowee Park in east Knoxville allows them guaranteed racing rain or shine. With some rain on Saturday morning, the moisture in the air had an effect on the track and made it pretty slick for round 1. Shay Brand ended up 2nd in Pro Buggy and 8th in E-Buggy after a really rough qualifier. In the Pro Buggy class Shay Brand took the TQ in round 2 and in E-Buggy, he was able to put in a decent run and was now sitting 2nd. With the weather drying up and the track coming around, Shay put in another great run in both his classes to take the overall TQ in both. Shay then went on to lead the 10 minute E-Buggy Main, wire to wire as well as the 30 minute Pro Buggy Main to take the victory in both his classes.

Ryan Lutz takes 3 classes at 2014 Fall Brawl

Last weekend’s Fall Brawl in Myrtle Beach, SC saw Ryan Lutz taking the TQ in the 1/8th Nitro and Electric Buggy classes. He went on to win Nitro Truggy by over a lap, 1/8th Electric Buggy, and Pro4 SCT. A flame out in Nitro Buggy was the only thing stopping Ryan from a win in 1/8th Nitro Buggy.

ProTek R/C high-density foam pit mat

New from ProTek R/C comes a 4mm thick foam pit mat for comfortable wrenching in the pits. The high-density mat is soft and durable, and it rolls up for convenient storage. A zipped mesh pouch is included to protect the pit mat while stowed. At 122x61cm, the mat is giving plenty of room when building a new ride or thrashing during quick repairs and it has a non-slip textured surface that has been sealed, so that it is water and oil-resistant. Non-toxic cleaners can be used to remove oily residue left over from shock and differential maintenance.

SWorkz S350 Evo II kit features & detailed photos

SWorkz have more images and detailed features of their soon-to-be-released S350 Evo II 1/8th nitro buggy kit available. The latest incarnation of the S350 buggy features several improvements such as new 16mm BBS shock absorbers with new soft springs, updated lower A-arms with a new shock geometry as well as Lightened Drive System driveshafts throughout. Included are also LDS compatible front steering knuckles and rear hubs, PSP aluminium upper steering bellcranks, a PSP aluminium throttle linkage set, aluminium upper arm mounts as well an updated fuel tank and an aluminium rear chassis brace mount. Included with the kit also comes the new Falcon II bodyshell.

NeoX 10th Anniversary Race – Announcement

Neo Buggy and DXR announce NeoX, the 10th instalment of the unofficial 1/8th Buggy Indoor Worlds. The anniversary event of the Neo Race sees the race once again run on its classic Easter weekend date of the 3rd to 6th of April 2015. The Agricultural University Harper Adams in Shropshire continues as the venue for the event, once again a 4 days affair – running Friday to Monday. The event’s capacity has been slightly increased in size with the blossoming 1/8 Electric Buggy class making a return – now limited to 60 drivers, the main Nitro Buggy class is limited to 240 entries. After the success of the special one-off races in the past they return with a few additions; Juniors Final, Oldies Final, the Dash4Cash for the top qualifiers, Last Chance Qualifier – more details revealed soon.
