Shin Adachi joins Yokomo

Following a two year stint with Hot Bodies following his departure from Kyosho, Shin Adachi has now signed a contract with Yokomo, the Japanese manufacturer announced today. Shin will not only supervise the development of their off-road buggy program he also race the company’s latest touring cars. This is what Yokomo President Tom Yokobori had to say about the deal:

With the 2015 IFMAR Electric Offroad World Championships to be hosted by Yatabe Arena approaching, Yokomo is getting into high-gear to further improve our competition offroad cars. To accelerate this effort, we’re continuing to assemble an international team of World-class drivers. Team Yokomo, including Naoto Matsukura, recently joined British ace Lee Martin and many highly-skilled team members, will continue actively participating in races around the World. In addition, our experienced team will work together to actively develop leading-edge designs. Yokomo will continue its tradition of exceeding the expectations of our customers by designing the best R/C cars, participating in competitive racing with great sportsmanship, and being active as a team to provide assistance and support.

Riccardo Acciari joins Radiosistemi for 2014

Radiosistemi have announced the signing of former European B Champion Riccardo Acciari to their factory team. After a small hiatus he is back running the RR8 chassis as well as the complete Modelix package with Ultimate Racing products, Ultimate Engines, ProCircuit tires and Nitrolux fuel. Ricky will compete in this year’s Italian Naionals as well as the European B Championships and other major races such as the Pierrefeu GP and Italian Job.

Josh Wheeler extends contract with Xray

US top off-road driver Josh Wheeler will continue to race with the Xray team in 2014, the Slovakian company announce. Josh will race the XB8, XB4 and XT9 in 2014 while attending several high-class races such as the Dirt Nitro Challenge, the Psycho Nitro Blast, the ROAR nationals and of course the IFMAR 1/8 Buggy Worlds. This is what Josh has to say about the deal:

Kyle Branson joins XRD Engines

Having recently announced he was joining Capricorn, Kyle Branson is also changing his brand of engine for the coming 2014 season. He will be running the new XRD line of engines alongside team mate Dario Balestri. Kyle had the following to say:

Serpent announce the Spyder SCT-2 SC truck

Seen for the first time at the recent Nuremberg International Toyfair in Germany, Serpent now officially announce the Spyder SCT-2 2WD short course truck. Based off the Spyder SRX-2 buggy the truck features a long wheelbase composite chassis, redesigned shock towers, long-stoke big bore shock absorbers, aluminium suspension mounts and it will come as a rear motor truck. Specially designed nerf bars with lexan inserts help to keep as much air out of the bodyshell for improved jumping abilities and a reduced “parachute” effect. The truck is set for an April release with a ready-to-run version coming soon after.

Horizon Hobby introduce the Dynamite Prophet Sport Duo AC charger. The device offers two independent 50W outputs for up to 6A charge current and up to 6S LiPo battery packs. The charger is housed in a sturdy, red colour case, features integrated balancers, short circuit, over temperature and low voltage protection plus an additional on/off switch and charge monitoring using three colour LEDs.

KO Propo RSx2 series high-performance servos

KO Propo introduce the RSx2 series of high-performance digital servos. All feature reworked amplifiers for a more linear feel with today’s high-response radio systems plus the case and gear tolerances are now even tighter for the ultimate in precision. Available are the RSx2 Response HC (0.06s/17.6kg-cm), RSx2 Power HC (0.11s/31.6kg-cm), RSx2 Response (0.06s/17.6kg-cm) and RSx2 Power (0.11s/31.6kg-cm) with the HC variants coming with an upper aluminium case for added rigidity and durability while the standard items come with reinforced composite upper cases. All servos feature mixed aluminium and steel gears, they are 7.4V compatible, come with gold-plated leads and double ball bearings.

PSM B5/B5M front shock tower

PSM introduce two new option parts for the Team Associated B5 and the forthcoming B5M in the form of these carbon fibre shock towers. Coming as “standard” V1 and “pro-tune” V2 version the shock stays are CNC-machined from 5mm glossy finish carbon fibre, they are of an impact-proven design and sport two (V1) and five (V2) optional upper camber link mounting positions for added adjustability. Included with the shock towers comes suitable hardware.
