Japanese manufacturer Technical Racing Gear introduce a carbon fibre roll damper lever set for the TRG114 and TRG112 formula 1 kits. Designed to replace the stock aluminium assembly with a lighter and more rigid solution the set also includes an extension for the centre shock that allows for easy droop adjustment in a range of up to 2.5mm.

Following a set of renderings, Spanish company MD Racing now released first prototype images of their forthcoming MDT15 touring car. Currently built from rapid prototype parts, a fully functional car should be ready to hit the tracks in around 2 weeks time. The MDT15 sports a conventional layout with the battery placed on the right hand side and the motor, speedo and steering servo on the left side of the chassis but especially the front and rear bulkheads heavily differ from current designs as their L-shape allows to permanently mount the shock towers to the bulkheads while the front spool and rear differential being accessible by undoing 4 screws each without having to remove the shocktower and shocks as most current designs require. The upper and lower A-arms are also of a different design but compared to previously released renderings these are only mock-ups at the moment. The 3rd round of the BRCA Truggy and E8 nationals was run in Wakefield, North Yorkshire last weekend. The all dirt track is also playing host for the Nitro national championship round 3, so it was also a good time to be getting practice and test tyres in readiness for that Championship round. In E8, 1/8th Electric Buggy, Kyosho’s Elliott Boots was able to TQ 2 of the 3 rounds of qualifying which would give him the overall TQ and pole position for the main A-final later in the day in which he was able to make a clean break at the start of the race. He then started to give himself a good lead over Darren Bloomfield, who was chasing hard but after a few minutes into the race Elliott was able to pull a comfortable lead and was able to manage his final, which he would then win after nearly lapping the whole field. With 3 wins from 3 rounds for the series and only 2 more rounds left to go Elliott has also taken the national series adding another British championship crown to his CV.

Some time ago we reported about Scorpion Power System, long known for their high-performance aircraft brushless motors, entering the car market. After extensive testing with the help of internationally experienced drivers like Meen V. and Charlee P. the motors are now ready to hit the market. We have no detailed information about the specifications and features but looking at the image Scorpion dealer/distributor Spec-R released, the motors build on a 3-piece can with a heatsink middle part with large ventilation openings who also act as windows to check the winding markings. The front and rear endplates sport huge milled out sections, again to help with airflow. Also visible are heavy duty solder tabs. For now the motors will become available as 4.5T to 8.5T “Modified” and 10.5T and 13.5T “Stock” variant.

Made for the TCXX electric touring car is this 20T aluminium centre pulley for the original TCXX and the TCXX 2013 conversion kit. The part extends the life of the drive belt(s) over the standard plastic pulley and also improves drivetrain efficiency. Coming as one pulley per package with two pulleys being required to outfit a TCXX.

In contrast to the tight boards style track of Round 4 held at the fahr(T)raum Museum in Mattsee, Austria, the Yokomo Euro Touring Series travels for the first time to Luxembourg this weekend (6-8th June) to what is rated by many drivers as one of the greatest outdoor tracks in Europe – Mini Circuit “Ville de Luxembourg”. The penultimate round of the championship, the event marks the return of former champion Jilles Groskamp, the reigning World Champion having some great memories of the track as it was where the Tamiya Racing Factory driver won his first major title back in 2009. Another significant name on the 240 plus entry list is that of r/c racing legend David Spashett who despite many years of being involved in the championship as a sponsor will make his first race outing. Amassing an impressive 4 World Championship titles and 13 European crowns, Spashett will go up against the biggest current day names of the sport including Groskamp having entered the Ride Modified class in which he will be driving an ARC R10.

Italian nitro engine manufacturer Novarossi introduce their new line of Rex engines for on-road and off-road use. All engines base on quality blocks combined with high performance parts to ensure reliable power output. The range will include .21 buggy engines such as the R21 Plus8 8-port, R21 Plus5 5-port, and Paloma.21 7-port engine as well as the R28-7M 7-port truck engine. On-road racers may welcome the R-Flash.21 9-port ceramic main bearing engine and the as well as the standard bearing R35 Plus 21 Tuned 9-port offering. For the 200mm 1/10th class Novarossi have the Rex R-Flash.12 Tuned 3-port ceramic main bearing engine up for grabs. All engines come with a characteristic blue anodised cooling head with laser-etched writings.

We wrote about Tamiya’s forthcoming TRF101W “wide spec” formula 1 kit some time ago and now Tamiya Japan have an official product image and information available. The car is based off the already known TRF101 standard track width kit and features a 2.5mm carbon fibre chassis, a new longer upper deck as well as “wide” lower carbon fibre A-arms made from 2.5mm carbon fibre. Also included in the kit, that is designed for the use with foam tyres, is a new piston for the side damper making for an improved damper action in tight corners. The kit comes without body, wings and tyres and will hit the stores mid-July.
