On the Grapevine – Omaha

On the Grapevine – Omaha

Where did that year go?? Last weekend I made my final trip of the 2013 season travelling to a rather nippy Omaha, Nebraska, for the Finals of the five round JConcepts Indoor National Series. Our second year to cover the series, I have to say I always look forward to joining Jason Ruona and his crew for these events as after a long day at the track the ‘craic’ (Irish word for fun/enjoyment) on the trip to & from the track and during dinner is always good. Not just a successful designer of RC products, Jason is also an excellent story teller with a great memory for funny moments from years gone by. Add in anecdote’s from the straight talking Ryan Maifield, Dustin Evans, Team Associated team-manager Brent Thielke and the odd one liner from new 4WD World Champion Steven Hartson and you always end up having a very entertaining night of conversation.

Steven Hartson renews contract with JConcepts

Steven Hartson renews contract with JConcepts

Steven Hartson, 2013 4wd IFMAR World Champion, has renewed contract terms with JConcepts. Since 2005, the Southern California driver and JConcepts have formed a bond that has taken the tandem to many event titles throughout the United States. JConcepts’ Jason Ruona states,  “Steven is a silent assassin, his approach to practice and racing puts him in position to be one of the quickest drivers at each and every event. His knowledge of tire preparation puts him in an advanced category ensuring he is ahead of the learning curve. Popular with the public, he is always one to help a driver or teammate in need or quick to offer advice in a difficult situation. Winning the World Championship proves that hard work pays off and we are excited that Steven chose to continue his relationship with us.” This is what Steven has to say:

I would like to thank JConcepts for the opportunity to be a part of their racing team. I look forward to another exciting journey racing at the highest level of competition. The history between us has been great and I’m very excited to be running JConcepts tires and accessories. With a 4wd World Championship title this past year, I feel like JConcepts can give me the best resources to do my best in the future.
