Evans dominates Fall Indoor Nats 2WD qualifying

Team Losi Racing’s Dustin Evans has dominated the first round of 2WD qualifying at the ‘Fall Indoor Nationals’, the Colorado driver setting the pace in Buggy, Short Course and Stadium truck all classes of which he is defending champion. In 2WD Buggy, the biggest class among the record entry at the R/C Excitement hosted event, Evans’ closest rival was 4WD Q1 pace setter Steven Hartson whose Associated was 3.8 seconds off the 19/5:01.640 set by the 2011 US National Champion.

Hartson tops 4WD Buggy Q1 at Fall Indoor Nats

Chasing his fourth consecutive win in this year’s JConcepts Indoor National Series in 4WD Buggy, Steven Hartson got the fourth round of the series, the ‘Fall Indoor Nationals’, off to the perfect start as he took his Associated around the RC Excitement track in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, in a fastest time of 20/5:03.910 ahead of last year’s Top Qualifier Mike Gay with JConcepts’ Jason Ruona third.

Exotek Team Durango big bore spring retainers

Exotek Racing introduce aluminium spring retainers for Team Durango’s 1/10th scale line of buggies and trucks such as the DEX210 buggy and DEST210 truck. They fit TD’s big bore shock absorbers and come anodized gold or black with laser-etched Exotek logos.

Blaze Racing B-Max2 mid-motor conversion

Blaze Racing from Poland introduce their mid-motor conversion kit for the Yokomo B-Max2 2WD buggy. Currently in development stages the kit will include a 7075 aluminium chassis, gear box and rear carbon fibre shock tower and is designed to adapt as many B-Max2 kit parts as possible. The use of a standard size servo is possible as are saddle pack and shorty LiPos configurations. The prototype ran at the recent Polish season opener in Michalowice in the hands of Yokomo driver Mateusz Ogonowski and the first kits will be available in time for the EOS race in Poland.

Crispy Critters Short Course Showdown report

Crispy Critters Raceway of Fairfield NJ held its first Short Course Showdown, hosted by Steve Charles. Classes consisted of 2WD and 4WD Modified Short Course, 2WD Spec Short Course and 2WD Modified Truck. The turnout was great with over 50 entries with the most popular class being 4WD Short Course. In the Blinky Spec Short Course class, TQ Steve Charles led the first lap before Aja made a nice pass on Lap 2 and never looked back. Third place B. Love filled out the podium.

Capricorn GTR-R body shell

Capricorn introduce the Brain Stuff GTR-R on-road body shell. Modelled after the Nissan GT-R the ROAR homologated body features reinforcements for the body and the wing in order to maximize stability even at high speeds. Included with comes a large decal sheet with grille, head and tail lights.

JConcepts Indoor National Series touches down in Massachusetts

JConcepts’ Indoor National Series today touched down in Massachusetts for the penultimate round on the 2012 calendar with RC Excitement in Fitchburg, which is about an hours drive north east of Boston, playing host to the electric offroad event. Known as the ‘Fall Indoor Nationals’ this is the fourth of five events that makes up the series which is now in its second season with an entry of around 300 racers expected to book in before tomorrow morning’s opening qualifier. Having already visited Missouri for the ‘Winter’, Texas for the ‘Spring’, California for the ‘Summer’ and set to culminate with the ‘Finals’ next month in JConcepts’ home state of Florida, this is the 3rd time the well known tyre & body manufacturer has brought its events to Todd Anderson’s RC Excitement track.

Xray Column – 2012 Racing Summer Summary

The 63rd installment in the Xray column from Xray owner and chief designer Juraj Hudy is now online. In this months column, Juraj gives a run down on the summer season results at the 1/10th and 1/8th Off-Road Euros, the Electric On-Road World Championships and many more.

The 2012 racing summer is over and the preparation for the winter indoor season is in full swing. It is nice after several weeks of traveling all around Europe to be back at home and finally I have some time to look back at the summer of 2012.
