Francisco Henriques wins Portuguese TC nats Rd4

The fourth round of the Portuguese TC nationals took place in Sintra. The fast and flowing track lacked grip due to the fact that the circuit was closed for all of August but the conditions were the same for everyone although some teams struggled to get the cars running properly. Come Sunday morning the qualifying heats started and Francisco Henriques showed a very good pace and qualified 2nd for the A-main with Hugo Miguel setting TQ. Both were chased by José Carvalho. Come the finals Francisco Henriques had some troubles in the first main but managed to secure the win in the second and third run handing him the win with Hugo Miguel in second and José Carvalho in third overall position.

A Main Hobbies debut world-class racing facility

Last weekend, A Main Hobbies debuted its much-anticipated world-class outdoor off-road racing complex, Silver Dollar R/C Raceway, as host of the 5th Annual Labor Day Shootout in Chico, California. The facility, which will host the 2013 IFMAR Electric Off-Road World Championships, saw “… a great debut for the new track” said CEO Kendall Bennett, “I don’t believe the RC community was prepared for a world-class track of this caliber.”

Shepherd Velox V10 EC 2012 upgrade kit

Shepherd are happy to announce the latest update for the Velox V10 ‘twelve’ in the form of the EC 2012 upgrade kit. Included in the set are a symmetrical chassis plate for optimized flex and handling characteristics, a narrow radio plate that lets the fuel tank move some 6mm towards the rear, an updated radio plate and engine mount as well as a new battery mount for standard 5-cell battery packs. The kits parts are also available separately from next week on.

Dave Arnold wins @ ROAR paved nationals

Dave Arnold has won the 1/12 Modified class at the recent ROAR Paved On-Road Nationals. The On-Point, Trinity and Speed Passion team driver TQ’ed every qualifying round and also won the single A main in front of Chris Mackenzie and RJ Evans.

KO Propo EX-1 KIY left hand grip unit

KO Propo introduce the left hand grip unit for the EX-1 KIY radio. The left handed grip unit will now allow lefty’s to build their own KIY system. The same features offered in the right handed version are also offered in the left handed version, like 3D trigger and movement of the trigger position to accommodate your hand size. Also available are standard and large size grips in grey or green colour.

Xceed wheel trimmer

Xceed RC introduce a special trimming tool for 1/8th and 1/10th scale on-road rims. Designed to remove material from the inner part of the wheel, the result is a more flexible rim that generates more grip. The tool sports a specially shaped and adjustable cutting part to become useable with a wide variety of wheels. Both an 1/8th and 1/10th scale variant are available.

Kyosho MP9 option parts

Kyosho Germany introduce a load of option parts for the MP9 and Inferno ST-RR line of off-road vehicles. Starting with the MP9 buggy, the new TKI3 body shell is designed to deliver a performance boost in terms of increased steering and more overall downforce. Used successfully at the recent Euros in Austria and the Italian Job Race the body is available in a lightweight 0.8mm and regular 1.0mm variant. Also new for the MP9 are 3.5mm CVD drive shafts that sport an increased diameter for increased durability. The shafts are available for as rear centre and 91mm and 93mm front/rear universals. Last but not least is Kyosho now offering a Titanium screw set for the Inferno ST-RR Evo 1/8th truggy. The set reduces the overall weight of the truck and increase durability.
