Hettrich & Wahl win at BaWü Cup

The BaWü Cup in Konstanz in the South of Germany was one of the first carpet races of the 2012/2013 season and a great opportunity for many teams to try out new parts for the upcoming ETS race in Mühlheim Kerlich. The organizers tried a new track layout for this year with a technical section at the first part of the lap and a more open and flowing part for the remainder of the lap. The new layout was well accepted by the drivers and made for some challenges when setting up the cars. In the stock blinky mode class it was T-Shox team-drivers Tobias Vogel, who won the German Stock Championship, and also Valentin Hettrich who showed a strong practice and also qualifying pace. Valentin took the last two rounds of qualifying and also the TQ spot for the finals. For the A-mains Tobias got the car better and better using the same setup Valentin was using. Valentin was on a roll and took the first two A-mains in style. Tobias however did not give up and took the win in the third and last A-main.

Round 8 of the 2012 national championship was our second visit of the year to the Cotswold circuit near Cirencester. The weather was set to be good all weekend which would be the only fully dry weekend of the year so far. With an entry list over 40 drivers provided 5 qualification heats of 4 rounds to determine the final line ups. The Main championship contenders were on display aiming to gain the upper hand ahead of a potential title decider in 2 weeks at Mendip. The current situation is that 3 times champion Tim Wood currently leads the way and is now aiming to better his worst score in the 6 from 9 events to count format. The remaining 2 drivers with a chance to snatch the title are Mark Green and Kyle Branson, who have missed racers due to European commitments during the year. The pre-event favourite by many was Kyle Branson who as showed consistently very fast pace throughout the season culminating in 4 TQ’s from 7 to date but with only 1 win due to bad luck in finals whilst clearly in the lead. VRC Pro Column – Short Course trucks

11th of August was D-day for VRC Pro: launch of short course trucks class, Virtual Racing Industries’ first attempt into off-road. It became immediately clear how immensely popular off-road racing is compared to on-road racing. In off-road you crash with a smile, in on-road you crash with frustration to say it bluntly. The Intercept SCX-10 is VRC’s own ‘generic’ 4-WD short course truck and is partly based on the popular Associated SC10 chassis. However, the SCX-10 is equipped with 3 adjustable viscous gear differentials to distribute the power the front and rear wheels equally. Suspension, shocks and anti-roll bars can be fine tuned to optimize the handling of the car.

Associated TC6.1 Worlds car kit

The Associated TC6.1 Worlds car kit builds upon the already-successful ROAR and BRCA national championship-winning TC6.1 platform with several performance-enhancing upgrades that boost the car to the next level. The TC6.1 WC is built on a new ultra-narrow 2.25mm-thick carbon-fiber chassis with optimized flex along with maximum chassis-roll ground clearance. The new narrow chassis helps reduce chassis drag during the hardest cornering. Also included in the TC6.1 WC are the Factory Team Vertical Ballstud Bearing Caps. Previously available only as a Factory Team upgrade, the vertical ballstud bearing caps provide finer increments of adjustment. This increased adjustability will allow the racer to tune the suspension with even more precision than before.
