HPI Baja 5SC SS29 1/5th SC truck

The 1/5th scale Baja 5SC short course truck from HPI has gotten the 29 treatment. The Baja 5SC SS29 comes as an unassembled kit that you get to build from the ground up. If you enjoy the process of custom building your own R/C vehicles, then this is the kit for you. Its more than just a kit version, it’s packed with extra speed and a long list of option parts. The powerplant has been upgraded to the high performance Fuelie 29s engine, coupled to a high flow aluminum tuned pipe with steel tubular header. Combined with the 8,000 RPM clutch, the Baja 5SC SS29 has some serious grunt to help propel it to speeds in excess of 40MPH. Need to quiet things down a bit? They’ve also included a stock can muffler just in case.

Sweep Micro Contacts tires

Sweep have introduced their lucky seventh 8th scale off-road tire called, Micro Contacts. This tire was designed to be a bulletproof micro pin style tire delivering a rocket round run in qualifying and still able to last the whole A-main. Featuring a very stable micro pin pattern to sweep the ground with today’s hottest 21 engines. As the name suggests, all of their test drivers commented on how they feel like their car has micro suction cups sticking to the ground. The gluing bead and sidewalls have been redesigned to deliver a precise steering feel, which has never been experienced in the past. Four different compounds are available to suit a large variety of track conditions. The softest compound silver, blue, red and then the hardest compound white. These tires are designed specifically for their own grooved inserts or Cloud 9 closed cell foam inserts.

Kyosho Plazma Ra 1/12 scale chassis

Kyosho Japan have released information on their upcoming Plazma Ra 1/12 scale pan car chassis. Named after the iconic line of Plazma on-road chassis’, the new addition that will hit the stores at the end of December 2011 is a rather conventional affair designed around the common 1S LiPo battery with rear link suspension, side damper tubes and is made for standard US-type wheels. The red anodised aluminium parts are standard as is the oil-filled centre shock absorber.

RCXraceR Inside & Outside RC sportswear

RCXraceR is a new Italian sports wear brand dedicated exclusively to the RC Racing world. The project was born from the idea to produce comfortable and cool wear for RC racers. RCXraceR have two aims one ‘Inside the track’ and ‘Outside the track’ with the focus on producing both branded racing clothes as well as casual unbranded RC gear for wearing when you are away from the track. The products will go on sale from the 15th of October. RCXraceR have recently designed the first ‘Inside the track’ collection for Italian team Speed RC who will be wearing them at the 2011 Arena event in Italy.

T.O.P. Rebel 12 left rear hub V2

T.O.P. Racing have released this new version 2 left rear hub for their Rebel 12 1/12th scale chassis. Machined from red anodised aluminium, this new part gives a more balanced rotational mass and truer operation.

Bruno Heremans wins Benelux Offroad Championships

The combined Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg Championship Series concluded last weekend with a surprise win by Bruno Heremans and his X-6 Squared. Coming into the last race at Vlijmen, Netherlands, X Factory’s Stefan Mesker held a one point lead over Elvo after six races in the seven race series, with best five to count. Heremans and X-Teamer Stefan Mesker were the only two drivers in with a chance for the title. The grass track deteriorated slowly through the day, becoming rougher, and many drivers found themselves on their lids unexpectedly. Heremans drove his X-6 Squared carefully but quickly from fourth on the grid to win the first two A mains and with it the overall Championship. Stefan Mesker, 2009 Netherlands Champ and 2010 BeNeLux Champ, came second in the BeNeLux this year, therefore won the Netherlands Championship again.

Xray T3 2012 spec coming soon

The new 2012 version of the Martin Hudy designed Xray T3 is on its way. Xray have published a list of updates for the next generation of their successful touring car platform and it seems to be a pretty comprehensive change with a new chassis, top deck, shock towers, upper bulkheads along with whole host of other stuff. Expect chassis shots and full details in the near future.
