Venom battery safety charge sack

Charging batteries is now safer than ever with Venom’s updated battery safety charge sack. Not only have they included high temperature fireproof thread, but Venom has also added snaps to the existing Velcro closure flap to contain fire and debris in case of a catastrophic failure. Bittydesign customizable buggy mud-guards

Bittydesign have released a complete line of fully customizable clear polycarbonate mud-guards. Unlike others on the market, these guards can be painted to match the body shell, which follows the Italian company’s philosophy of giving all drivers the possibility to bring more style to their model. Of course BD will also offer a special package price for people who take a painted body along with a painted mud-guard. The mud guards are available for the Losi 8ight 2.0 / 2.0EU, Hot Bodies D8, Mugen MBX-6 and Serpent Cobra, with the Kyosho MP9 TKI2 coming soon.

Xray extend deal with Josh Wheeler

Xray have announced the re-signing of front running US racer Josh Wheeler. Josh, who was the highest placed Xray at the World Championship in Pattaya, qualifying in 16th place, had this to say about the deal:

I look forward to another great year with Xray! I am constantly impressed by the knowledge and desire to win by everyone involved. I am privileged to be a part of their program and look forward to representing them at the races. I would like to thank the whole Hudy family for all the support and giving me a chance to race another season with Xray.

Hermann Saa & Patricio Concha win Pacific Cup

Last weekend the Pacific Cup was hosted in Lima, Peru with 60 racers from Peru, Ecuador, Chile, France, Spain and USA. The event organized by APERCAR had over 2500 spectators and it was a new experience to all foreign visitors mostly because of the crowd cheering and applauding competitors, thanks to their great facilities conveniently located next to the beach, a paradise for RC racing. Qualifying saw Rino Lino take the TQ spot in the 200mm class with a new track record while it was Patricio Concha that took the top spot in the GT class. The 1/10th A-main saw Hermann Saa from Ecuador take the win ahead of local racer Paul Aray in 2nd, with top qualifier Rino Lino ending up in 3rd. The GT class was won by Chilean Patricio Concha ahead of country man Marcelo Echevarria in 2nd and Enrique Hurtado in 3rd spot.

RB EFRA 2087 pipe

The RB R&D department together with team drivers have developed a brand new EFRA legal (#2087) buggy exhaust. Having covered this before in our toy fair report, this pipe provides very smooth and manageable power, improving the torque of your engine. A big improvement has been gained on the runtime, thanks to its specific internal design. Driving on a slippery track becomes easier thanks to the very manageable power the RB EFRA 2087 provides. The pipe comes polished with shifted pressurization, 3 springs and the new long life exhaust gasket. Can be combined with RB compact manifolds 192mm, 198mm and 204mm.

Lucky 7 RC air filters for THE Car

Lucky 7 RC have released a line of replacement air filters for the JQ Products THE Car. Available in packs of 4, 9 and 16, they come either dry or pre oiled. These latest foam filters add to their already available line which includes Losi/Serpent, MBX6, Proline, OS/Ofna/Mugen & RB/Xray.

Taylor James returns to Pro-Line

Pro-Line have announced the return of top US driver Taylor James to their team for 2011. The Team Durango driver is back after a year away and had this to say about his new deal:

I’m very excited to be returning back to the Pro-Line team. It will be nice to be back to tires that I know very well considering I ran Pro-Line for a number of years before last year. Pro-Line has a great team from the accomplished drivers to the very professional staff behind the scenes. I look forward to having a very successful 2011 back with old friends.

Capricorn LAB.21 Europa buggy engine

Italian company Capricorn have announced the soon to be released LAB.21 Europa, a high performance 3.5cc buggy engine. Featuring a lightened over sized cooling head and an optimally balanced crankshaft using weights, this turbo 3 port engine provides plenty of torque, bottom end power as well as good fuel economy.
