Offroad Meeting Arena – Announcement

Offroad Meeting Arena - Announcement

Run from the 19th to the 22nd of November, the Offroad Meeting Arena will take place again this year in Italy, at the Arena of Cowboys Guest Ranch of Voghera, near Pavia. The annual indoor race, which was won last year by Hupo Honigl, once again has attracted some of Europe’s best off road racers, who are taking part in the buggy, truggy and brushless classes. Running alongside the ultra competitive racing format that sees the champions crowned on Sunday, the organisers have created a ‘Race of Champions’ race that is made up of the best 16 drivers in buggy, in F1 and F2 class, as well as the best 16 truggy drivers. On Saturday night they will go together in a race that sees the last placed racer eliminated every 5 minutes until the 4th placed driver is eliminated and the podium positions are taken. This, together with all the other racing and activities planned, will make this an event to remember and Red RC will be there to cover all the action Live from the track throughout the weekend.

For more information on the Offroad Meeting, and how to enter, visit the official event site here.

O.S. Engines in Japan have announced their new truggy motor, the Max-25XZ. With the rules set for truggy racing, O.S. set out to make an extremely balanced, powerful and fuel efficient engine. The first thing was to reduce the capacity from .28 to .25 (4.09cc) which helped to make a more fuel efficient, lightweight engine with an improved centre of gravity. This short stroke engine claims a maximum power output of 3.1bhp at 33,000rpm and is supplied with a double adjustable carburetor to be able to fine tune the entire power range.

Pro-Line Caliber SC tires & Split Six wheels

Pro-Line Caliber SC tires & Split Six wheels

New from Pro-Line for the Slash, Slayer, Blitz and SC10 is the Caliber SC tire. The Caliber takes tire technology to the next level by optimizing traction, control, balance, and tire wear with its dual-stage design. The smaller top pin penetrates through loose dirt while delivering unbelievable side and forward bite. The base pin works as a support for the top pin while acting as a dual-stage design once the top pin is worn down. You can rely on the base pin for greater tread life wear and it works well on those tracks that are prone to blue-groove or have a super clean surface. Also new, to work with Caliber SC and other SC tires, from Pro-Line is the the Split Six one piece wheel, whose design is the staple look of short course vehicles. Until now, it’s only been available in a 3 piece bead-loc design, but now it is offered in a lightweight one-piece glueable design that’s more affordable and completely performance driven.

Protoform Type B & M F1 Retro shells

Protoform Type B & M F1 Retro shells

New from Protoform for the Tamiya F103 chassis are two new body shells, the Type B F1 Retro and the Type M F1 Retro shells. The re-released Type B body replicates one of the first F1 cars to be designed with a “high nose” and a suspended front wing. It turned out to be a championship winning car that influenced the design of many F1 cars since then. This body is made to fit the recently released Tamiya F103RM kit that’s equipped with the proper “high nose/wing” pieces. The Type M body replicates one of the most distinctive cars of an earlier era. It’s made to fit the ever popular Tamiya 103R F1 chassis and both body shells are pulled in .030 lexan and come with a protective film.
