Victory for Merlin Depta at RCCM Cup

Last weekend the first round of the RCCM Cup took place on the Hildesheim track in Germany. With no opportunity to practice for the 31 starters prior to the event due to rain, the first practice heats got going on Saturday morning. Following qualification Merlin Depta took pole position with his Max powered Serpent 733. Right from the start of the final Depta pulled away and ran easily for 30 minutes finishing 7 laps in front of eventual second placed finisher Thomas Einbeck, with fellow Kyosho driver Dirk Müller in 3rd. This was the first race with the Serpent 733 for Merlin, who had never before raced in a 1/10 scale class.

Kyosho KF01 GP Formula 1 chassis

Kyosho KF01 GP Formula 1 chassis

Kyosho have released details on their new gas powered Formula 1 chassis, the KF01. The simple flat pan chassis is made from 3mm thick aluminium for strength and durability. Up front, the upper wishbone length is adjustable to allow you to change the angle of the front kingpin to change the car’s camber, while the rear end features the same axle suspension system as on the Spada. The body supplied is based on the popular 90’s design which handles extremely well, while the lightweight wings help the overall handling of the car. The supplied Sirio 09 engine provides plenty of power while the special compact exhaust system does a great job of muffling the engine’s noise.
