Speed Passion Silver Arrow 2.0 series motors

Speed Passion Silver Arrow 2.0 series motor

Heat has always been an issue with 1/8 high performance brushless motors, but with these new offerings from Speed Passion however, heat quickly becomes a problem of the past. The Silver Arrow 2.0 series motors from Speed Passion combine the high power current plug-in feature from the Competition V3.0 motors, which make use of low resistant 4mm replaceable connectors, with the rock solid Silver Arrow 1.0 platform. This combination can deliver extremely high speed and torque while cutting down 25% of the heat generated. A new simplified one-piece design also makes motor maintenance and dis-assembly very easy and trouble free. Available in 5.5, 6.5, 7.5, 8.5 and 9.5 versions, Speed Passion have also announced that in the first week of December they will release the Silver Arrow Version 2.0 ESC, which is completely new and improves greatly on the Version 1.0 in regards to size, performance and reliability.

The all new AMB IT Personal transponder

The all new AMB IT Personal transponder

We have received photos of the all new AMB IT personal transponder that was being tested recently at the MACH indoor track in the Netherlands. Some drivers were given the new MyLaps PT to test out and so we ended up with pictures. The previous PT was very innovative and changed how we race, but it had been around for a long time and was due and upgrade, and so here it is. Weighing only 4 grams its almost half that of the original, while the size is now 16 x 9 x 6mm, making it considerably smaller too. It will be supplied with a quick change holder that enables the user to easily switch between a version that has now eyelets shown above, to one that has mounting eyelets so it can be screwed to a transponder mounting plate. It will be available in either black or red, has lower power consumption, works with less voltage and when it hits the market in the next few weeks the cable isolation will be PTFE Teflon, which is fuel resistant. Note that the PT in the images is still a prototype.
