Czech Off-Road Challenge 2007

Xray have a big report on their site from last weekends Czech Off-Road Challenge 2007 that was held alongside a large toy fair in Brno. The 90 drivers present were greeted with a large multi surface track with a good micture of corners and importantly the hall was well ventilated and heated. Xray driver Martin Bayer managed to claim the top qualifying spot ahead of 2nd placed Martin Pater with Michael Bok in 3rd, both drivers also racing Xray. In the race itself Martin Bayer managed to pull away, despite some pressure from behind, and could win with ease followed home by Oliver Simon who was gifted the position after Michal Bok had engine troubles which allowed Simon to finish 2nd and Martin Pater to move up into the final podium spot.

Axial range of tools

Axial range of tools

Axial have given RC Car Action the scoop on their new set of tools, and we havent been given much more information than that, except that they are available in a wide range of tips, and those tips are replaceable, and from the picture we can see that the larger sizes are available also with ball tips. The handles use some beefy screw driver handles that look grippy and comfortable and sport a colour coded tip mount, although i personally still prefer the Hudy method of tool size recognition.

JConcepts tires impress on debut

JConcepts tires

The debut for the all new JConcepts off road tires took place at last months Nitro Challenge and on its debut race they took the win in the hands of top off road racer Ryan Maifield. In the hotly contested 45 minute A-main event, Maifield made it a debut to remember by winning the Pro Gas Truck class A-main with his Associated GT2 running on JConcepts “Double Dees” tires in Sticky Green Compound. In 1/8th scale buggy, Maifield also blitzed the track in Round 2 of qualifying with his Associated RC8 by laying down a TQ run using the 1/8th scale version of the “Double Dees”.

Fioroni parts for the Sidorf

Fioroni parts for the Sidorf

A while back we wrote about top US driver Jason Ashton making the surprise move to Spanish manufacturer Sidorf to race their S-1 buggy. Well Jason is doing pretty well with the car Stateside and recently he showed his car off sporting some new Fioroni made aluminium optionals that include shock towers, uprights, shock bodies and more. The parts look good, especially the anodised / machined look, but no word was given on the release date of these parts, but we have learned that the Sidorf that will be released in the US will be called the M-5, but its unclear whether this is a new car or just a new name.

Hobby Model Expo 2007

Italian site RC Bazar was present at last weekends Hobby Model Expo show at the Novegro Exhibition Center in Milan, Italy. While the event was for all types of hobby products including trains and planes etc, there was a number of RC car manufacturers, mostly Italian, present and showing off some of their products. The picture above is from the BP Racing stand, a company that we know from their BP engines but they also make other things too including these 1/8th scale rally game optionals that include the fanciest rear anti roll bar ever as well as an aluminium rear diff pulley and many other parts.
