Schumacher Outdoor Offroad Masters Rd5 – Report

This past weekend was the fifth and final round of the fantastic SOOM series 2021, there was once again a great entry of drivers present. It was the biggest entry of the series, with 108 entries for 2wd and 91 entries in 4wd. The race format was round by round qualifying, with the best 2 results from 4 rounds of qualifying counting towards the final position. The Robin Hood team had designed a fantastic track layout for both days of our event and the venue was looking in pristine condition. Once again as some travel restrictions have been lifted, it allowed some International entries from Michal Orlowski, Jorn Neumann and Riccardo Berton to travel across for the event. In 2wd qualifying it was Michal Orlowski who would take TQ to line up on pole. Lee Martin would be 2nd and Paul Crompton would line up 3rd.

Speedzone Evolution LiPo packs

Speedzone has released their latest 2S shorty pack and 1S pack to the Evolution brand of LiPos. The 5600mAh 7.4V 130C shorty pack measures 96x47x25mm and weighs 230g while the 8500mAh 3.7V 130C 1S pack measures 93x47x18.5mm and weighs 164g. All packs were designed to produce high voltage with low internal resistance and the packs utilise 5mm bullet connectors.

BRCA 1/8 Circuit Brooklands Rd6 – Report

It was back down to the south of the UK for the penultimate round of the championship. Brooklands is a real treat for the drivers and offers high speeds which rewards the bravest of drivers. In nitro qualifying Alex Thurston got off to a convincing start and took a clean sweep of all the rounds in qualifying with his Capricorn chassis with Tim Wood (Shepherd) and Mark Green (serpent) following him to line up 2nd and 3rd for the 30 minute A final.

Ruddog crawler 550 motors in 14T, 16T & 20T

Ruddog have announced that their popular 5-slot 550-size crawler motors are now available in three additional turn ratings, 14T, 16T and 20T. The dual ball-raced motors feature adjustable timing, plated end bells, replaceable motor brushes and springs, brush heatsink towers and they are fully rebuildable if needed. The adjustable timing allows to adapt and optimise the motors for drivetrains that require reverse motor rotation operation.

Reds Racing have introduced this multi-function hex tool kit. Supplied in a handy foam filled plastic case. The set includes a black anodised aluminium handle and four high quality steel tips in 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm & 3.0mm, with the tips also usable with an electric screwdriver.

T-Works 22X-4 steel CVDs

For the TLR 22X-4, T-Works have produced a full range of steel CVDs including the centre line shafts as well as the front and rear driveshafts. Made from a high-quality steel, both the shaft and drive axle feature a black surface coating for wear resistance.. The rear centre CVD shaft is 93mm long, with the front centre shaft coming in at 68mm with the front and rear driveshafts being 74mm and 67mm respectively.

JConcepts DR10 aluminium steering rack & bellcrank

JConcepts has the steering system on the DR10, SR10, and RB10 covered with an all new light-weight, aluminium steering rack and bellcrank. The rack is CNC-machined and replaces the stock plastic piece, and comes in a blue or black anodised finish and sports machined chamfered silver edges and engraved JConcepts.net logo. The aluminium, light-weight assembly provides a more rigid steering system with increased steering feel and response. The bellcrank is a servo saver-less aluminium steering system and replace the stock plastic bell-cranks, they come in a blue or black anodised finish and sport machined chamfered silver edges and engraved JC logos. The aluminium, light-weight assembly provides a more rigid steering system with increased steering feel and response. The fit of the new bellcranks has been improved by the positioning of the bearings to help eliminate binding when assembled.
