The third round of the 2021 Italian Championship dedicated to 12th scale classes took place this past weekend in RC Landia, Scandiano. The race was held under the official safety protocols that ACI Sport (the Italian R/C Cars Federation) has agreed with National Authorities in order to allow full safety for all participants. In GT12, which in Italy is traditionally run according to the popular BRCA rules, Guido Carbognani repeated his impressive performance that saw him win Round 1 and 2, and took another dominant win that allowed him to stretch his lead in the Championship further. Carlo Alberto Conti took second place, while Alessandro Giubbilei, third.

T-Works have expanded their range of rear tension rod mounts to include the Mugen MBX8 and Associated RC8B3.2. The braces are machined from 7075 T6 aluminium which has been anodised black and finished with chamfered edging. The new parts help improve strength and increase stiffness over the stock parts and come supplied with the relevant mounting hardware.
From Team Associated come these new flat and tapered Factory Team 16mm shock pistons for RC8B3 and RC8T3 series 16mm shocks. Machined from high quality Delrin, they add more tuning options to dial in suspension settings. Flat pistons have equal compression and rebound, making them ideal on smoother surfaces, while tapered pistons have less resistance when the shaft is traveling in the direction of the taper angle. If the taper angle is set down, the piston will have less resistance in rebound and more resistance during compression and this is what makes tapered pistons more ideal on rough surfaces.

JConcepts unveiled a new body during the 2021 ROAR Fuel Nationals for the 1/8th truck division. The F2 body was constructed to perform at the highest level using the latest trend of reducing surface area above the shock tower line, reducing the overall weight while maintaining a tight silhouette. What stands out on the JConcepts body is the raised nose that planes off the front shock tower. This design and styling were chosen over the buggy style mount to provide a better look, a cleaner and more durable fit and a better overall flow aerodynamically. To mount the F2 body, a carbon fibre adaptor is needed along with the Team Associated body mounts or Mugen (for MBX8T) to place the front of the body in correct position. Each truck has a specific adaptor produced in carbon fibre which bolts directly to the stock tower and once adding the (not included) body mount, provides a custom fit and beautiful finish.

R1 Wurks have introduced their AXXISS DC1 B6/.1/.2/.3 drag conversion. This is a prototype of their upcoming chassis that has been developed and tested by team drivers over the past 6 months. With that in mind this kit will be utilising Industrial 3d printed parts with MJP, SLS processes. This kit will require a donor Team Associated B6 or any variety of the B6 Chassis and modifying of suspension components may be required on earlier B6 Chassis. The set will include the AXXISS DC1 carbon fibre chassis, battery mount with rubber bands & holder, servo mount, servo horn, anti-bump steer plate, front knuckles, carbon fibre front suspension riser plates, electronics mounting plates, motor mount/rear differential riser and finally the wheelie bar mount.

The famous Willspeed 5 gear transmission and billet aluminium chassis RF2 conversion platform is now available for the Yokomo YZ2. A conversion designed for medium/high traction surfaces to maximise corner speed along with drivability, the set includes all parts to convert a Yokomo YZ2 into a Willspeed RF2. Featuring an aircraft grade billet aluminium tub style chassis, for a combination of light weight, low centre of gravity, integral strength, and single piece no tweak design. The ultra low profile aircraft grade aluminium 5 gear transmission housing features optimised weight distribution with lowered idlers, lowered layshaft and unique no tower “A” frame design, hugely lowering the centre of gravity. Other items include the aluminium motor mount and aluminium shock tower base with internal undercut keyway which interlocks with the transmission housing for super solid mounting of the premium carbon fibre uprights. This ultra lightweight platform, race ready with full size shorty LiPo, full size servo, Willspeed RF2 Falcon 2.0 bodyshell (included) and Schumacher tires approximately 1495g.
