Daniel Kobbevik crowned Norwegian 2WD Buggy Champ

This year’s Norwegian National 2WD Buggy Championship was held at the west coast of the country, close to the city of Bergen. The track was technical and fun with very varying traction conditions. After winning all four qualifying rounds it was multi-time national champion, Daniel Kobbevik with the overall TQ and the pole position for the triple A-main events. From there Daniel continued to dominate the field, taking the wins in A1 and A2 for an early overall victory and his 9th national championship title. Peter Stein came in 2nd overall, Trond Setre finished in 3rd to round out the podium. Over in the recruit class it was Martin Skar with the win.

Balestri & Greiner lead at ENS Austria

With the weather improving significantly throughout Friday, the ENS organisers made use of the unexpected good conditions to conduct as much of the planned five qualifying rounds as possible for the opening round of the series. As Saturday currently forecasts rain for most of the day, the 1:8 Scale and +40 Masters Classes were able to complete four rounds of heats, with 1:10 Scale finishing three rounds at the MAV Aigen-Schlagl circuit.

X-Partz sensor wire Protecktor Coverz

X-Factory UK have introduced the new X-Partz sensor wire Protecktor Coverz stickers that allow to conveniently cover flat sensor wires in 2WD buggy chassis. With more and more racers preferring to use the latest flat wire sensor leads, the convenient channel in many of today’s off-road buggies because even more use than with previous thicker sensor cables. The only issue is that on most cars this channel runs under the LiPo and each time the driver removes the battery there is a risk of snagging or dislodging the sensor lead, possibly leading to damage. The sensor Protecktor Coverz are made from an adhesive heavy duty vinyl, and stick over the sensor channel once the lead is in place to conceal and protect it as well as looking really trick too. The stickers are available as four-piece sets in a range of designs for the Yokomo YZ2 DTM or CAL, Xray XB2C’20 or XB2D’20, Schumacher Cougar Laydown, and Team Associated Associated B6.1, B6.1D, B6.2 or B6.2D.

Ressar & Kasekamp win at 2020 Baltic Cup

The 2020 Baltic Cup was held at the Kangarnieki RC Track over the weekend. Top drivers from the Baltic countries gathered to find out who’s fastest on the high grip technical carpet track. In 1/10th 4WD Buggy, Rainer Ressar took the top spot after the five qualification rounds followed by Henry Zoludev and Karolis Valiulis. Ressar would continue to lead the way and ultimately secured the victory after winning A1 and A2 ahead of Henry Zoludev and Karolis Valiulis.

Xray XB4’21 1/10th 4WD buggy – Coming soon

Xray have announced the upcoming release of their forthcoming XB4’21 1/10th scale 4WD buggy kit. The latest incarnation of the company’s IFMAR World Championship winning XB4 series is expected to be an all-new platform, however official details are not available until its full release that is expected to happen within the next weeks.

Norwegian Electric On-road Nationals – Report

The 2020 Norwegian Electric On-road Championship was hosted by the Stavanger Modellbilklubb and held at the huge Klepp RC track in western Norway. While Nikko Haheim took the win in the Touring Modified class, it was Odd Helge Johansen with the victory in Touring Stock. Thor Bjorn Gabrielsen came in 2nd overall from Vidar Gunderson in 3rd. Bjorn Ole Haagenvik came in 4th, Anna Nedrebo rounded out the top 5.

T-Works S35 series DLC-coated shock shafts

Coming from T-Works are new DLC-coated shock shafts for the SWorkz S34-4 and S35-3 off-road buggies. Available are S35-4 specific 58.2mm front and 69.2mm rear as well as S35-3 specific 60mm front and 70.4mm rear shafts all of which are made of high-quality steel that received a DLC coating for a slick and rigid surface. The coating is usually used to protect the crankshafts of nitro engines, ensuring a very low wear and long durability of both the shock shafts and shock O-rings.

Manfred Neuhold wins at Xray Challenge 2020

The Austrian MORAC-Ring hosted the Xray Challenge 2020 last weekend in several nitro and electric 1/8th and 1/10th scale classes. In the 1/8th scale Electric GT class it was Manfred Neuhold with the overall TQ from Klaus Saurer on the runner-up spot. Klaus would take the win in the opening A-main event, however it was Manfred who came back for A2 and A3, taking the overall win from Klaus Saurer in 2nd and Harald Schneller in 3rd.
