Team Associated Kashima-coated V2 Fox shocks

Team Associated Kashima-coated V2 Fox shocks

New from Team Associated come the Factory Team V2 Fox shock bodies with genuine Kashima coat. The shocks have the same attributes as the shock coat found on the buttery-smooth Fox Factory Series forks and shocks, providing extended life and silky-smooth shock action. The shock shafts use a screw to secure the piston and there are two coatings to choose from: TiN shafts for the longest life and Factory Team chrome shafts for the smoothest action. The pistons come machined for a precision fit and finish and their edges have large radiuses for the smoothest shock action. Also available are blanks for customising own piston hole combinations. The shock accessories are available in a range of different sizes to fit Team Associated’s 1/10 scale 2WD and 4WD electric buggies, as well as 1/10 scale 2WD electric trucks and short course vehicles.

Avid D413 12mm aluminium hex set

Avid D413 12mm aluminium hex set

Coming from Avid and made for the HB D413 1/10th 4WD buggy is a 12mm aluminium hex set. Offering an innovative pin retaining system to hold the front drive pins in place the conversion does away with the annoying “pin dropping out to never be found again” the original front hexes sport. The front hexes are machined in a way to utilise an internal O-ring that holds the pin in place once the wheels are off. For the rear adapters the proven clamping system is used utilising a stainless steel 2-56 clamp screw. The chamfered edges of the 6061-T6 alloy parts make for easy wheel installation and each package includes a pair of 12mm hex front and a pair of 12mm hex rear adapters, three front O-rings, two 2-56 clamping screws, O-ring install instructions, and an Avid mini decal sheet.

JConcepts Reflex 1/5th scale tyre

JConcepts Reflex 1/5th scale tyre

Following the introduction of the Chasers large scale off-road tyre, JConcepts now also announce the release of the Reflex tread. The yellow compound tyre has square angled pins that are stacked vertically to flex and fold evenly across the tyre. Typically a stacked tread will wear less and provide more forward bite while the aligned space helps rotation in the turns and gives a snappy release to square up quickly. Easily one of the smaller pin tyres available for 1/5th off-road, the Reflex is a beefed up version of its 1/8th scale sibling scaled up in size to withstand heavy abuse but just nimble enough to offer optimised response. To make them interchangeable, the tyre beads and inner carcass have been designed to use the stock Losi 5ive insert and fit directly to the already established bead-lock wheel. The inner tabs built into the carcass interlock with the Losi bead-lock style wheels for security.

JConcepts Chasers 1/5th scale tyre

JConcepts Chasers 1/5th scale tyre

JConcepts have introduced their first ever tyre for the 1/5th scale class, the Losi 5ive compatible Chasers. The tyre relies on hefty, medium lugs which are angular in multiple directions. The horizontal type tread has a striking similarity to the trusty 1/8th buggy Crossbow tyre. Chasers have a squatty, close lug arrangement which gives responsiveness and bites in all conditions. The wet and dry condition tyre has small recessed cuts in the top of the tread for extra edges and increased formability over terrain. The centre overlapping bar treatment increases durability in the highest wear region of the tire. The outer sidewall has added tread at the top which provides extra reinforcement for those tough outdoor conditions while the outer V-lug also provides some paddle traction in loose sand or muddy conditions giving the Chasers ultimate versatility.

Tamiya TRF211XM & TRF102 – Teaser images

Tamiya TRF211XM & TRF102 – Teaser images

Tamiyablog got their hands on first images of Tamiya’s forthcoming TRF211XM 2WD buggy and TRF102 formula kits. Starting with the buggy, the front and rear section looks pretty close to the successful TRF201XMW, the car that took the vice-championship at the 2013 IFMAR World Championships, but the main feature is the new tub chassis that will be made of a new composite material that, from what is understood, will offer different flex characteristics compared to a standard composite part in that it is more rigid without sacrificing the car’s grip characteristics. More information will become available during this week’s Shizuoka Hobby Show.

Wild Turbo Fan 2015 3D Mad Max fan mount

Wild Turbo Fan have introduced the 2015 version of the Mad Max fan mount. Building on the sleek design of the previous version the ’15 fan mount offers a tension adjustment feature that allows to adjust the mount to the motor can as these can slightly vary in diameter from brand to brand. A screw incorporated into the main mount presses against a steel ball to slightly close the clamp for a tighter fit on smaller diameter cans to make sure the whole assembly safely stays in place even in rough racing conditions.
