Indoor Baltic Championship Rd2 – Report

The second round of the Indoor Baltic Championship was hosted by RC Mulk and held in the Poltsamaa Felixhall facility. The three day event saw drivers from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Finland and the 2WD Buggy class saw Karl Kasekamp topping the practice sessions, followed closely by Hendrik Lainemae, Rainer Ressar and Robin Ilus. Qualifying would see quite a few winners on top, with Kasekamp taking Q1 and Q5, Ressar winning Q3 and Q4 and Lainemae taking Q2. That’s also how they would line up on the grid for the finals. All three legs would be full of exciting overtakes and lots of tight racing, but Kasekamp would show his speed pulling away from the field after the first few laps. 2nd spot would be obtained by Rainer Ressar, and newcomer Karl Martinson showed great pace to come in 3rd in the end.

2019/20 Mibosport Cup Rd5 – Report

The fifth and final round of the Mibosport Cup was held this past weekend, once again attracting a very healthy field of over 200 drivers for the electric on-road and off-road classes. The event was a special one for the overall championships as to make things more interesting, the organisers decided to serve more points than usual on the final encounter, ensuring all drivers were pushing really hard as nothing was set in stone in the overall rankings going into the final round. Beside the usual suspects the final round attracted some special names, mainly in the off-road classes, such as Jörn Neumann, who found the way to the Czech Republick after a long time as did young and very talented Jessica Palsson from Sweden. However, starting with the on-road classes and in Touring Modified, Oliver Havranek was the man to beat. But it was not smooth sailing for him. Matej Sulc held the TQ spot after the qualifiers but in the end Matej wasn’t able to fend off Oliver who brought home the win from Matej in 2nd. Petr Grof secured P3, Kuba Simurda came in 4th and Martin Kratochvil finished in 5th.

JConcepts Finnisher Mini-T 2.0 body shell

Coming from JConcepts and made for the Losi Mini-T 2.0 is the new Finnisher truck body shell. The clear body has a slight cab forward, raked windshield and aggressive stance that highlight a performance-oriented core. The front hood scoop allows plenty of clearance for mini front-end geometry and body mounts while smoothing out the front down force area. Front chin spoiler, headlight and grill protect the front-end from unwanted up-drafts during flight while the supplied decals stand-out like an 18-wheeler. Just like the larger trucks, the Mini-T body has all the performance-based features like air-escape passages which can be trimmed by the customer for better “in-flight” characteristics. Recessed windows look heavy and adds to the depth of the Finnisher styling. Heavy bracing between the back of the cab and rear shock tower humps connect the features and add some rigidness to the design. The rear spoiler is included as part of the rear of complete body assembly mould and the package is complete with window masks and a decal sheet.
