The 3rd annual Kinwald BKlassic will take place from October the 14th to 16th at Hobby Action RC Raceway in Chandler, Arizona. The race is held in honour of Offroad RC great Brian Kinwald with parts of the entry fee being donated to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation Southwest Chapter. The race will cater for several 1:10 2WD, 4WD and Short Course classes as well as a vintage 2WD category. More information can be found on social media here.
The Euro Offroad Series is excited to announce the addition of a new high profile event to the calendar with Warsaw Moto Show in Poland the venue for the second round of the 1:10 electric offroad indoor championship. Having already confirmed the sixth season of the EOS will again kick off at the Nurburgring, Germany, in September on the same weekend as the famous circuit hosts the full size Blancpain GT Championship, the Polish round will take place on November 18-20.

A Main Hobbies announced today that it will partner with BMiller Racing, the team of radio controlled car racers founded in June by 13-year veteran professional basketball star Brad Miller. Miller (middle), along with team members Todd Pearson (left) and TJ Wickum (right) will be representing A Main Hobbies at all RC events, as well as using ProTek RC products exclusively. Together with an appearance standard for body shells and a clarification on rules for 1/8 scale brushless motors ROAR also introduced 550-size brushless motor specifications for the 1/10 scale 4×4 Short Course class. The specifications for 550 motors are only legal in the 4×4 Short Course category.

Coyote Hobbies got in contact to tell us about the 1st annual mid summer shootout that will run at their facility on the 30th of July. The event is run indoors and is open to a wide range of classes for SC, truck and buggy in both 2wd and 4wd as well as 1/8th electric buggy. Full event information and entry forms can be found here.
Thunder Tiger Europe got in touch to tell us about the European Short Course Masters 2011, that takes place at MC Welden, close to Munich Germany, from the 9th to the 12th of June. The race is open to all racers across 4 classes, 2wd hobby class (only SC10 RTRs), 2wd modified class, 4wd modified class and a 1/8th 4wd Modified and Nitro class. Team Associated will be sending over US superstar Ryan Maifield and they will likely send another named driver also. The organisers of the 2011 Short Course Nationals to be held at R/C Madness in Enfield, CT were in touch to promote their event which takes place from the 26th to 28th of August. As the name suggests, the race is only open to short course vehicles and encompasses 8 classes including Slash spec, 2wd stock, 2wd open, 4wd open, SCT big block, mini short course open, SC buggy stock and finally 4wd nitro open. This weekend brings the much anticipated start to the Short Course Showdown Nation Wide Tour. The Tour, being promoted and organized by Scotty Ernst, is a 4 event tour that will bring Short Course racing to 4 different tracks across the United States. Tour date number 1 will be held at RC Excitement located in Fitchburg Massachusetts which is about 1 hour outside of Boston. Some big names racers and industry support are scheduled to participate in the event this weekend including Team Losi’s drivers Mike Truhe and Richard Trujillo. From JConcepts it will be Paul ‘P-Dubb’ Wynn and ‘Double D’ Dave Duncan. Spektrum will be represented by Sonny Brown. Viper RC will be there to display and represented by Nick Malato and the latest edition to the Showdown Nation Wide Tour is one of the biggest and most well respected names in all of RC. Team Associated’s newly signed Ace, Multi time National and World Champion Brian Kinwald. Brian and Team Associated have committed to all 4 tour events and it will be great to add him to the bill for the tour. The industry has embraced the Tour as we all know what Short Course racing has done to the racing world and our goal is to bring our style of events to different areas of the country.
