Xray Challenge Scandiano – Report

The first Xray Challenge of 2014 was held at the RC Landia facilities of Team La Gang, in Scandiano, Italy. The race was sold out quickly after the entry was opened and a total of 120 drivers attended in three classes. Open practice started on Friday, whereas the race commenced on Saturday, with 5 qualifying rounds for all drivers, and triple finals. In Touring Car Modified Xray’s Alexander Hagberg won all rounds in front of Alessio and Martin, and he also set TQ in the 1/12 category in front of fellow Xray drivers Massimo Fantini and Marek Cerny. In the Touring Car Stock class, Xray took a 1-2 as well with Marek Cerny on the top spot followed by Mattia Collina.

More Serpent SRX2 option parts released

Serpent introduce more option parts for their Spyder SRX2 line of 2WD buggies. First up is a 3-piece aluminium steering rack set that includes aluminium steering bellcranks and the steering rack. The CNC-macined parts are made from high-grade aluminium for less flex and a more precise steering feeling. Another new aluminium option is the 2-piece servo mount set. Again the parts are designed to eliminate unwanted flex for a rock-solid steering response.

Jones & Weatherholt win at Winter Midwest Champs

JConcepts team driver Tyler Jones took the win in Pro Nitro Buggy at the CRCRC Midwest Nitro Championships. Tyler started from 2nd on the grid with his TLR 8ight 3.0 and finished off the main, lapping the entire field for the win. In the eBuggy class Tyler, coming from 4th on the grid, lead the entire race but a last lap bobble left him with a 2nd place finish behind Collin Weatherholt.

Sweep Racing have extended the contract of Reedy Race of Champions winner Viktor Wilck for the 2014 season. The Swede, who joins current Touring Car World Champion Jilles Groskamp, will not only use the company’s line of accessories but also Sweep tyres in open events and he will also assist with tyre and on-road bodyshell development.

Exotek Racing now have this direct spur gear hub for Team Associated 2WD vehicles available. The slipper assembly eliminator spur gear mounting hub fits all B4, T4 and SC10 with the stock layshaft and is great for stock class and oval racing. The machined aluminium part is lighter for increased acceleration and a cooler running motor and allows the mounting of any standard spur gear for increased gear ratio options. The part weights 3.8g and comes blue anodised.

STRC SCX10 link conversion & universal chassis set


STRC have new option parts for Axial’s SCX10 crawler available. First up is the 4-link upper suspension link conversion kit that replaces the stock “Y” link setup with a two-piece and more adjustable upper front suspension link set-up. The included 4-link plate provides the upper links with 3 different positions to adjust the width of the span between the two upper suspension links. The included mounting screws are also long enough to have spacers added to adjust the angle of the suspension links as well. Available in anodized black, gun metal, and silver.
