David Bustos wins Spanish 4WD championship

The one and only round of the Spanish 4WD electric buggy nationals was hosted by the Club Automodelismo de Parla some 20 minutes from the centre of Madrid. The two day event started with practice on Saturday and ended with the finals on Sunday. Compared to recent years where the 4WD class struggled to attract the same amount of drivers as 2WD, this year saw a record attendance for the class. In practice one driver stood out from the rest, local hero David Bustos. Sunday was all about sunny skies and high temperatures. Bustos (Tamiya TRF502/Hobbywing) dominated the race at his home track taking three out of five qualifiers and the first two A-finals. Second place went to last year’s 4WD champion Enrique Fuciños (Schumacher CAT SX3/Speed Passion) with Zacarias Villalba (Ansmann X4/Viper R/C) taking the third place on the podium.

Many thanks to Zacarias Villalba for sending the report.

AKA HEXlite 1:10 buggy wheels

The new AKA HEXlite 1:10 buggy wheels were designed with two things in mind, weight and durability. Both were achieved through superior engineering and use of AKA’s proprietary high-impact nylon. This combination makes them one of the lightest hex wheels on the market. Revolutionary to the 1:10 market is the optional wheel stiffener insert. It has been designed to help keep dirt from building up inside the wheel, making it go out of balance, and stiffens the already stiff wheel. HEXlite wheels spin true and balanced thanks to the quality craftsmanship of being made in the U.S.A. Available in the rear for the Associated/Kyosho/Losi and as a 2wd front for the Associated/Kyosho and Losi as well as a 4wd front for the Kyosho.
