LRP-Offroad-Challenge Solms report

LRP-Offroad-Challenge Solms report

Last weekend saw the new LRP-Offroad-Challenge held in Solms, central Germany. The race was a great success with 69 entries in 4 different classes at only the first round of this new German national offroad series, sponsored by LRP. In the “Rookie-Challenge” it was Martin Klees who took the win, while in the popular “Short-Course Class” Bernd Haas could secure TQ honours as well as the win with his HPI Blitz Shortcourse Truck. The 2WD and 4WD classes were also raced and showed off the highest amount of drivers and competition. A little sensation happened in the 4WD class as Bastian Schäfer took the win with the LRP S10 Blast BX Chassis beginner chassis, in front of two time world championship A-finalist Marcus Lübke, driving for Team Ansmann Racing and Dai Sakaguchi with his Tamiya 511 in third

ROAR amend saddle pack height rule

ROAR

ROAR have announced that 2S Saddle packs in excess of 25.1mm tall are no longer permitted. “The 2008 ROAR rules originally permitted saddle pack batteries with a maximum height of 32mm based on the batteries available at the time. The rule was change in late 2009 to a maximum of 25.1mm to make them consistent with the majority of battery packs available on the market. The batteries in excess of 25.1mm were grandfathered for a period of one year to allow drivers to use packs already purchased under the original rule. The one year period expired in late 2010, so batteries legal for ROAR competition for the 2011 season and beyond will need to be in compliance with the existing rule. The battery packs in question will be removed from the approved list.”

Adrian Bernsten dominates Norwegian Winter Series Rd4

The 4th round of the Norwegian Winter series was held at the big sportshall in the small village of Spydeberg recently, which is 50 km south-east of Oslo, and Adrian Bernsten sent us this report. We saw a 600m2 big track with same layout as was used at the Nordic Championship held earlier this season (November 2010). The only difference was that we now used white and red corner dots to mark the corners better. There were 43 drivers over three classes; 1/10 touring modified, 1/10 Pro Stock and 1/12 scale and we drove three qualification rounds with the best out of three-system.
