Casey Peck wins KBRL nitro series Rd2

Casey Peck wins KBRL nitro series Rd2

Round 2 of the KBRL nitro series hit Tucson AZ recently and with another great turn out it would seem to show the KBRL is very well supported by Arizona’s electric and nitro racers alike. The race started off with a bang for SCH / SPY / LOSI driver Casey Peck as he claimed the first round TQ. In the second round it was Team O’Donnell’s Brian Kinwald who was on a mission after a bad first round and took the round 2 TQ but it was not enough to take down Peck’s first round time. After qualifying was all said and done it was Peck in first, Losi’s Mike Friery second and Kinwald third. When the tone sounded Peck picked up where he left off in qualifying and never looked back. The Novarossi powered Losi couldn’t be shaken and Casey took the 20 min main win by a lap over the field. Friery, Kinwald, and Trevor Clement had a great race that would eventually end up with Trevor in second and Mike third.

DJ Apolaro joins Capricorn

DJ Apolaro joins Capricorn

Capricorn RC have announced the signing of well known racer Florida based racer DJ Apolaro to their team. The former Serpent team driver had his first shake down at Kissimmee raceway recently and took the TQ and victory. He will drive the LAB-C01 with Novarossi power and will help with the development of their upcoming 1/8 car. DJ had the following to say about the deal

I would first of all like to thank Serpent for the long relationship we had and for the great racing over the years. Michael and Ronald have been great for this sport and I can not thank them enough. As for as myself and Capricorn, I look forward to the opportunity to show off the new and innovative ideas that Capricorn brings to the market of racing. They have done optionals for some time now and have their own car that has already proven to have great ability. That combined with the new 1/8 scale coming will be a great project for me to be involved with. I had a chance to race the LAB-C01 this past weekend for the first time and all I can say is WOW. I look forward to working with Patrizio and appreciate the opportunity that has been given to me by both Patrizio from Capricorn and Joaquin DeSoto from Desoto Racing.
