Exotek EB48 Steering Servo mount & Alu Diff Mount

New from California’s Exotek Racing is their Steering Servo Mount & Tray Set and Centre Diff Mount for Tekno’s EB48 2.1 1:8 electric buggy.  The steering servo mount is machined from heavy duty polished and anodised 7075 alloy with the electronics tray produced in carbon fibre.  Lightweight yet high strength, the factory style servo mounting reduces the risk of stripped plastics.   Also providing factory style, is the heavy duty 7075 alloy centre diff mount for the EB48 series.  The alloy construction maintains proper gear mesh for longer gear life and reduces the chance of stripped screws coming loose in a race.

Full Scale Tamiya Wild One MAX

We are used to seeing scale releases of iconic race cars from the RC manufacturers especially from the likes of Tamiya, but thanks to British based The Little Car Company we are seeing the reverse of this with the release of the full size Tamiya Wild One MAX.  Based on Tamiya 1:10 2WD Buggy which was first released in 1985, and re-released in 2012, the full scale vehicle is being produced under licence from Tamiya.  Coming in at €41,000 plus taxes and shipping, it costs a little more than the RC version it is based on.  However like its 1:10 version it is electric powered with eight removable battery packs giving a total capacity of 14.4kWh and a top seed of 80kph.  Unlike the RC derivative it is also possible to register the buggy as road legal in the UK and EU.  The Tamiya Wild One MAX will be publicly unveiled and on static display at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed which runs from July 13-16th.  If you fancy getting one the order books open on Thursday and you should have it in early 2024 just in time to drive it to your local track to race your RC cars of course!!

Schumacher Cougar LD2 S2 Wide Rear Link Mount

Schumacher has released this new optional S2 Wide Rear Link Mount for their popular Cougar LD2 1:10 Buggy.  During testing the LD2 in high grip conditions, it has benefited with this wider plate supporting the rear of the car.  This helps the car drive flatter through the fast bends.  It is also very good for a more aggressive turn in and excellent drive out of the bend.  The team have been using these so far in medium and high grip conditions.

Reedy Sonic 540-SP5 Spec Motors

Reedy has released its all-new Sonic SP5 stock motor range.  Featuring an all-new and unique design, the performance of the SP5 starts with the stator.  Designed in-house, the stator’s profile is intended to achieve maximum torque and power output without sacrificing RPM.  High-quality copper magnet wire, sized to the maximum that the rules allow and wound with care to keep resistance near the legal minimum, is treated with heat transfer epoxy to dissipate heat and reduce internal temperatures resulting in less fade over the course of the race.  An oversized collector ring not only dissipates heat, but in conjunction with thick solder tabs, reduces resistance and power loss.  A balanced rotor features a high-strength magnet that takes full advantage of dimensional rules to produce fade-free power with maximum effectiveness.  The rotor is supported by precision stainless steel ball bearings to accommodate high RPM loads with exceptional efficiency and reliability.  Like all Reedy Sonic motors, a high-quality sensor board rounds out the motor’s interior.  Externally, the SP5 utilises a lightweight two-piece CNC machined aluminium housing with an aluminium endcap and timing adjustability to accommodate fine-tuning for specific applications.
