Frogger Racing products Goblin bodyshell

Frogger Racing products Goblin bodyshell

British micro racer Carl Venter has been working in collaboration with Keith at Kamtec models to design the new ‘Goblin’ bodyshell for LRP Shark 1/18 buggies that have been modified with the longer SC chassis. The bodyshell is named after the Goblin shark (known for its sleek and unorthodox shape) and allows for maximum airflow to the electrics. Made out of 1mm top quality lexan the body is strong and sturdy and should stand up to the rigors of racing while protecting your expensive electrics inside. On it’s very first outing at the BRCA micro nationals Mark Stiles took the Goblin to TQ and first place in the A-final and in doing so wrapped up his second consecutive national title in the class.

JConcepts have released a trio of new bodyshells for both Short course and truggy, starting with the new Blitz Truth. The cab, bed and fenders are all areas of focus with one of the highlights of the styling cues including the extra fender clearance to minimize troublesome tire rubbing issues. The new Blitz Manta has also been updated to fit the HPI Blitz, incorporating the latest treatment from JConcepts in grill and headlight design with a racing influenced front bumper, front and rear fender flares, extended cab design with recessed side windows and louvers along the front hood area highlight a number of the front-end styling cues. In addition, JConcepts has included an optional rear spoiler which gives the ability to alter the look and function of the Manta. Finally for the Associated RC8T-CE there is the Punisher body. Like the previously available versions for other cars, the hood and cab treatment are amongst the lowest in class giving the Punisher top notch performance. The bed area represents the latest offering for 1/8th truck racing featuring a super low profile design for increased engine cooling, air flow and escape.

Pro-Line Slash Chassis saver & Caliber 2.2″ tires

Pro-Line Slash Chassis saver & Caliber 2.2" tires

Pro-Line have released two new items, the first being the chassis saver for the Traxxas Slash. During track testing of the ProTrac kit for Slash, it became clear to the Pro-Line development team that the the short course truck’s chassis had a weakness resulting in numerous broken chassis and shortened track sessions. To resolve the issue they created this chassis saver set, which strengthens the rear shock tower mounting ears. The second new item from Pro-Line is the 1:10 Caliber 2.2″ truck tires. The Caliber takes tire technology to the next level by optimizing traction, control, balance, and tire wear with its dual-stage design. The smaller top pin penetrates through loose dirt while delivering unbelievable side and forward bite. The base pin works as a support for the top pin while acting as a dual-stage design once the top pin is worn down. You can rely on the base pin for greater tread life wear and it works well on those tracks that are prone to blue-groove or have a super clean surface.
