PR Racing S1 V3R Evo 2WD buggy kit

Coming soon from PR Racing is the S1 V3R Ev0 2WD buggy kit. The main focus has been to make the car smoother and easier to drive on track, and this has been achieved with a revised 2.5mm thick -5mm length 7075 aluminium chassis. In addition new insert-type hangers have been introduced, and in conjunction with the chassis design allow for much lower rear roll centre, keeping the car much flatter on track with smoother rotation. New Ackerman geometry, and new CNC rear hubs with longer link positions also improve on track driveability. A new motor mount has been produced to lower the motor 2mm into a recess in the chassis, and makes a particular difference on today’s high grip tracks. In addition to all the geometry and mechanical changes, the V3R Evo has been treated to a new body, designed to look sleek and offer more steering with its much larger forward mounted cabin. The kit comes with a host of optionals such as CNC alloy servo mount, 4 degrees alloy caster blocks, front camber plates, vented slipper plates, a swaybar set and 34T alloy idler gear and it will hit stores in June.

Xray XB4 aluminium shock towers

Xray have introduced new aluminium shock towers for the XB4 series of buggies. The parts are machined from high-quality 7075 aluminium and they come black anodised for wear and looks. The front tower features lowered upper shock mounting positions and an overall lower design for an optimised centre of gravity while the rear tower matched the shock positions of the carbon fibre part, however it sports new outer wing mount positions that allow to shift the rear wing up and down to adjust the aerodynamic balance of the buggy. The 3mm thick shock towers offer increased overall stiffness compared to the carbon fibre parts for an easier to drive and more predictable car when running in high-bite track conditions.

Element RC Enduro Sendero RTR trail truck

Associated Electrics have introduced their all-new Enduro Sendero RTR trail truck, the first vehicle out of their new Element RC line of high-quality ready-to-run vehicles. At the heart of the Enduro is Element RC’s revolutionary Stealth X gearbox. Although the exterior appears to have a conventional 3-gear transmission look, the inside is far from conventional. The transmission features the ability to adjust the rear drive ratio independently from the front drive across three levels: stock overdrives the front end 5.7%, option 1 provides a one-to-one drive ratio front-to-rear, and option 2 overdrives the front end 11.83%. Feeding the power to the tires are 3-piece telescopic driveshafts with an extruded aluminum center section, universal front drive axles, and hardened steel ring and pinion gears. With the Enduro drivetrain, delivering useful power will not be an issue.

Tamiya GF-01TR 1/14 Monster Beetle Trail

Tamiya have released a first image of their forthcoming Monster Beetle Trail truck based on the new GF-01TR chassis. The classic Tamiya Monster Beetle is an iconic RC kit and this version takes the classic body, shrinks it to a smaller scale, and mounts it on a variant GF-01 chassis called the GF-01TR. The GF-01TR fits the gear-driven GF-01 chassis with reduction gears, also known as portal axles. This modification allows the hobbyist to better transverse trail terrain as it lifts the bottom of the chassis to better clear obstacles that could high centre the vehicle and render it stuck. No word yet on a release date but as the box art seems pretty much done the kit should hit stores in the near future.

JConcepts P2K YZ-2 body buggy body shell

JConcepts have introduced their new P2K body shell for the Yokomo YZ-2 2WD buggy. An evolution of the P2 body, the “K” is sleeker by removing rear down-force features to allow the buggy to turn on the tightest circuits and carpet and astroturf surfaces where traction is always plentiful. The entire centre section of the cab on the P2K has a channel based design to flow directly over the middle of the vehicle to stabilise the at-speed handling. The front of the cab, important to performance, includes the P2 position with heavily recessed front windshield. The JConcepts edge treatment remains on the side-capsule area for air-flow direction by the cab and pointing the force to the rear wing area. The chamfering stands out as a JConcepts design feature on every new shell, the P2K has those elements and in great positions for decals and paint allocation. The P2K takes into account, spur covers and drops over the kit supplied setup. Rear louvers tuck into the rear stance of the shell which can always be customer trimmed for a slight amount of heat escape. The body included two S-type rear wings for durability, rear traction and high-speed tracking.

Ultimate Racing EFRA 2141 & 2142 exhaust systems

Coming from Modelix Racing are the updated Ultimate Racing EFRA 2141 and EFRA 2142 Off-road Super Strong exhaust systems. On both sets the location of the pressure tap has been modified for better performance and both come with the Fast-Lock pipe and manifold connecting system for easy and reliable connection of the exhaust pipe and manifold. Performance-wise the EFRA 2141 pipe provides a precise and linear throttle response in the low to mid RPM range with great top end speed while offering an easy to control power curve for very demanding tracks with sharp corners and hard to clear jumps. The EFRA 2142 set provides a precise and linear throttle response in the higher RPM range with a great top end speed, making it the perfect choice for big tracks with long straights where high top speed is needed.
