New from Yuki Model comes the HC-2284GG digital brushless servo. The standard-size item is high-voltage compatible, allowing to use it with up to 8.4V input. It features an all-alloy case, a brushless motor, durable titan gears and the servo is ideal for all applications that require swift transit times and a high torque such as 1/8th off-road and on-road cars.
Around for some time in prototype stages SWorkz have now introduced the production version of the S12-1M 1/10th scale 2WD buggy kit. The mid motor carpet spec buggy builds on a 3mm 7075 aluminium chassis that allows for four different battery configurations including shorty, saddle and square packs. The gearbox is of the latest low-profile design with a front-mounted motor, centre layshaft and rear gear differential while the suspension utilises bladder-less large volume big bore shock absorbers, a front aluminium and rear carbon fibre shock tower. The rear aluminium suspension mounts make use of a composite insert system to adjust the toe and anti-squat settings and the buggy is usable with standard 12mm hex wheels or SWorkz’ own “1/8th-style” rear wheels.
Coming from Intech and made for the ER-14 buggy is a short battery strap. Cut from high-quality carbon fibre and sporting a two-colour Intech logo the strap is designed for shorty packs exclusively. Using the battery strap not only makes for a more secure fastening of the shorty pack but it also adds some visual impact to the car.

MIP have introduced the Roller Pucks .150 x .093 rebuild kit for the newly released Roller Pucks drive system. This all-in-one kit is directly targeted towards those that already use the MIP Pucks system with steel outdrives and want to upgrade to MIP’s new Roller Pucks system which features a metal rolling bushing rather than a plastic sliding puck. The refresh kit includes all needed parts to upgrade two driveshafts such as two Roller Puck pins, four Roller pucks and three button head screws.

Available as hybrid and traditional 1-piece variant the parts, made from the same high-quality material as T-Works’ titanium screws, scrub some weight while adding rigidity and visual impact. Included comes a suitable 4mm turnbuckle wrench.

Italian company Reds Racing have introduced their updated Quattro off-road clutch system. Available in a 32mm and 34mm variant the clutch makes use of a thicker flywheel to increase the inertia of rotation and the durability of the flywheel. The adjustable clutch incorporates a rotating front plate, doing away with the need for disassembly or spring changes. Included in the set are the Hybrid 4 shoes, a mixture of two aluminium and two carbon composite shoes.
Spec-R have an aluminium diff gear cross shaft set for the Tamiya MF-01X available. Made from high-quality material and coming blue anodised the shafts weigh in at only 6.7g compared to the 19.6g of the original steel shafts. This greatly reduces the rotational mass of the drivetrain for quicker spool up, improved braking and longer run times.

During last weekend’s final of the 2015 JConcepts Indoor National Series MIP have shown us their all-new Roller Pucks drive system. Building on the design of MIP’s popular Pucks drive system, the design revolves around 360 degree rotatable bushings that can move freely inside the driveshaft bone while also being able to rotate independently of the pin that captures them. This, together with a clever material mix makes for greatly improved wear characteristics compared to the composite Pucks system. The system was specially designed for Modified class racing and it replaces the standard outdrive and drivepin assembly with a construction that is much less prone to wear while being easier on the wallet as only the metal pucks need to be replaced once they start to wear whereas the standard “narrow drive pin” design make the replacement of both the driveshaft and outdrive necessary. The Rollers Puck system is fully compatible with MIP’s Pucks and 17.5 Aluminum Pucks drive system meaning the plastic parts can easily be replaced with the Roller Pucks hardware set although the somewhat delicate aluminium drives are only recommended for the use in 17.5T buggy. The MIP Roller Pucks drive systems will soon be available for all popular 2WD and 4WD buggies as well as for many trucks.
