Tebo & Phend successful at Psycho Nitro Blast

The city of White Pine in Tennessee hosted the 2020 Psycho Nitro Blast this past weekend, attracting 346 drivers and 744 entries. In the premier Pro Nitro Buggy class it was Team Associated’s Spencer Rivkin with the overall TQ from Agama’s Tyler Jones in 2nd. In the 30-minute main final none of the two would really shine after an entertaining start to the main as it was 9th place qualifier, Tekno RC’s Joe Bornhorst who would take the leat at about the seven minute mark that he would swap with 10th place qualifier, Seth VanDalen (Tekno RC) and 8th place qualifier, Jared Tebo (Tekno RC), the latter established himself in the lead in the closing stages to take the win a narrow 1.8 seconds in front of Seth as Mugen’s Ryan Maifield retained his 3rd qualifying position another 4.8 seconds behind. Spencer Rivkin and Adam Drake (Mugen) would round out the top 5 results.

XRS Czech Republic Off-road – Announcement

The RC Divoke Jeleni club of Horni Jeleni, Czech Republic will host the Xray Racing Series Off-road from the 25th to 27th of September. The event will be held in Pro Nitro Buggy, Pro E-Buggy, Nitro Buggy Hobby and E-Buggy Hobby categories and more information can soon be found here.

Ben Mohamed Noha doubles at MRCF race

The French MRCF club hosted an open race last weekend, attracting some of the region’s fastest drivers. In 2WD Buggy it was young Ben Mohamed Noha with the overall TQ and he also came out on top after the A-mains, leaving behind Christophe Faure in 2nd and Regis Brunier in 3rd.

Josh Hollifield wins at July 11th race

The S&B RC Speedway of Piedmont, South Carolina held their July 11th club race last weekend in Pro, Sportsman and Novice 1/8th off-road classes. Pro Nitro Buggy had Luke Deming taking the overall TQ from Josh Hollifield in 2nd. The 20-minute main event then saw Josh swapping places with Luke in the opening stages for several times, however some eight minutes into the race Josh had established himself in the lead and from there he never looked back to take the win two laps in front of Dave Carmendy while Luke Deming came in 3rd overall, some six seconds behind Dave.

Lutz & Hardison win at USRC Championship Series

Adrenaline RC Racing of Winchester, Virginia hosted the USRC Championship Series last weekend, attracting over 75 entries. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was Ryan Lutz with the overall TQ and win from 3rd place qualifier, Javon Mallory in 2nd. Alex Larson came in 3rd overall as Daniel Orlando and Adam Harrison rounded out the top 5 result. Over in 1/8th E-Buggy it was Jacob Hardison with the overall TQ and win from Ryan Lutz in 2nd. Brennon Schimmel completed the top 3 in front of Buzzy Wright and Javon Mallory.

Polish 1/8th Off-road Nationals Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Polish 1/8th Off-road Nationals was held in the city of Szczecin recently, attracting over 80 drivers. While Berkan Kilic walked away with the win in the Nitro Buggy class it was Bartosz Zalewski with the win in E-Buggy. Iwo Czarnecki came in 2nd from Donat Bula in 3rd. Wojciech Rzepecki and Pawel Kowalski rounded out the top 5.

Grayek, Ciccarello & Schreffler win at LCRC Opener

LCRC Raceway’s Season Opener race attracted over 300 entries last weekend. While Jared Wiggins took the win in Nitro Truggy, it was Jamie Grayek (Team Associated) with the overall victory in Expert Nitro Buggy. Coming from P5 on the grid Jamie worked his way up in the single 15-minute A-main event, swapping the lead with Jason Schreffler (HB Racing) and Ethan MacKanick (Xray) several times. In the closing stages however Jamie was able to establish himself in the lead, taking the win with a three seconds margin on Ethan in 2nd. Jason would round out the top 3, another three seconds behind.

Masami Hirosaka releases his autobiography

Record IFMAR World and JMRCA Japanese National Champion, Masami Hirosaka has just released the first three parts of a multi-title autobiography about his racing life. One of the most well-known professional RC car racers of all times, Masami is a role model for decades of racers that can now get a pretty detailed idea of what Masami’s racing life was all about. Part 1 to 3 of the biography is available on Amazon in Japanese language with part 1 being made public in English language now also. The English language parts 2 and 3 are currently in production with Masami already working on parts 4 to 6 as we type.
