Jon Howells wins at Winter Series Rd5

The Ledbury Model Car Club held round 5 of their Winter Series last weekend. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was Chris Lovell (HB Racing) with the overall TQ after the qualifiers, however in the 15-minute A-main event it was Team Associated’s Jon Howells with the win some 22 seconds in front of Chris Lovell. Lloyd Pitt (Team Associated) would round out the top 3 podium result less than a second behind runner-up Chris.

Yannick Aigoin wins at Agathoise Race

The Agde track in the south of France held the Agathoise Race this past weekend. More than 100 drivers signed in to compete at the event that was held in perfect conditions and on an amazing track. In the 1/8th E-Buggy class it was Yannick Aigoin, who only attended the electric class due to having no mechanic, who took the win from Ludovic Loupias in 2nd and up and coming Remy Bermudez in 3rd.

Martin Bayer teams up with Mibosport

Mibosport have announced the addition of Xray off-road frontrunner, Martin Bayer to their team. Martin will be using Sanwa products in all of his Xray 1/8th and 1/10th scale rides while being Mibosport representative at all races he attends locally, nationally and abroad. Martin has the following to day about the deal:

VP PowerMaster signs Cole Ogden

Following the signing of Tekno’s Joe Bornhorst VP PowerMaster R/C Hobby Fuels have also announced the addition of champion caliber driver Cole Ogden to the VP Racing Fuels PowerMaster national race team. Ogden is from McDonough, Georgia and finished 2nd in 1/8 Pro Buggy at the 2019 Southern Indoor Championships in his PowerMaster team debut. Using PowerMaster Pro Race 30, he will compete and represent the brand as a product spokesperson at RCGP events in the Philippines, Spain, Italy, and the United States and will help VP establish the east coast market in America. “I am extremely excited to have Joe Bornhorst and Cole Ogden on our National team,” said Tommy Porfirio, VP Racing Fuels PowerMaster Director. “Both drivers have a wealth of knowledge and will bring more experience to our nitro off-road team.” Cole added:

VP PowerMaster signs Joe Bornhorst

VP PowerMaster R/C Hobby Fuels have announced the addition of champion caliber driver Joe Bornhorst to the VP Racing Fuels PowerMaster national race team. Bornhorst, from Dover, Ohio, will be fueling with PowerMaster’s Tessman 30% blend and he will compete and develop the mid-west markets for PowerMaster all while being available for product support. Joe says:

Pedro Gomes takes 4WD win at B.I.R. 6.0

The B.I.R. 6.0 race was recently held in Ferrol, Spain, attracting local racers and guests from abroad. In the 1/10th 4WD Buggy class it was Portugal’s Pedro Gomes (Xray) who would take the overall TQ after winning four of the five qualifiers. In the A-mains Pedro would again hold the upper hand, taking the overall from the Serpent duo of Carlos Duares in 2nd and Hugo Miguel in 3rd.

Moon & Kerry win at Essex Carpet Clash Rd3

Last weekend saw round three of the ever growing Essex Carpet Clash series take place in the south of England. Having had a successful pervious two rounds, entries were in for another round, with further improvements for the day ahead. Many returning and new drivers for this series turned up in the morning to a fully laid track featuring more and new jumps to test the skill level of any driver. Both 2WD and 4WD classes were run, with the 2WD being the more popular class. In qualifying, it was Ed Kerry and Will Venables taking the 1st round wins, showing their pace and consistence on track. Overall, in 4WD Ed managed to secure the pole position for the A main having topped 3 of the 4 rounds, but he had been chased all day closely but both Mark Lewis and Luke Mills, who lined up behind him in the finals. In 2WD, Will wasn’t able to capitalise taking the 1st round, but stayed steady throughout the day placing this buggy 2nd on the grid for the A-main. Topping the 2WD class was Klye Moon who took 3 from the 4 rounds of qualifying, showing that he meant business, giving a glimpse of what pace he had for the finals. Showing that he still has what it takes and lining up 3rd was Ellis Stafford, followed by Ross Nicholson and Joe Howson.

Daniel Kobbevik wins at Elefun Cup Rd6

The sixth round of the Elefun Cup was held in Grimstad in the south of Norway. The race was held on a tight yet fun indoor track that made for some EOS feeling thanks to the grip available. The event attracted young gun Daniel Kobbevik (Xray) who would set the pace and he also took the win in the 4WD Buggy class with Gisle Brovig and Jaran Flaath (both Xray) rounding out the top 3 results in the wheeler class.
