Joseph Quagraine wins at Border Wars race Rd4

Round 4 of the Border Wars series was held at Sun City R/C Raceway recently. JQRacing’s own Joseph Quagraine would bring home the TQ and win in the Open Nitro Buggy A-main. JQ left behind Wyatt Beiter in 2nd, some four laps down, while Xray’s Cody Taylor rounded out the top 3 results. Mugen’s Casey Pack came in 4th, Team Associated’s Scotty Brewer obtained the 5th spot.

Michal Orlowski sweeps Dart Cup Rd6

The sixth and final round of the popular Schumacher Dart Cup 1:10 off-road series was held this past weekend at the Astroturf RC Track in Serock, Poland. Mother nature presented some unusual conditions for the drivers. The race started in hot summer weather with temperatures in the high 20°C range on Friday while on Saturday morning temperature dropped more than 10 degree Celsius and was only around 13°C. On midday the rain started and the rainy, windy autumn weather continued until the end of the race. What followed was a never ending search for the best tyres and setup for the changing track conditions.

Leonardo Valente joins SWorkz

SWorkz have announced the signing of Italy’s Leonardo Valente to their factory team. One of the country’s frontrunners, Leonardo will campaign SWorkz’s S35-3 nitro and S35-3E electric buggy kits at national and international events and he already set a first mark by winning the E-Buggy class at the recent Reds GP. Leonardo had the following to say about the deal:

When testing SWorkz cars, I immediately felt familiar with the cars. Easy driving but also top speed made my decision easy to race for the brand in the coming years.

Turner & Arredondo win at JBRL Electric series Rd7

Round 7 of the Jimmy Babcock Racing League Electric Off-road Series was held at Controlled Chaos Raceway in Palmdale, California last Saturday. 2WD Open Buggy had Cody Turner (Team Associated) taking the day’s win from Kyosho’s Caetano McNeill on the runner-up spot and Team Associated’s Nick Miller, who would round out the top 3 results.

Jackson Andres takes double NCT titles

The sixth and final round of the Northwest Championship Tour was held in Yakima, Washington. In the 4WD Open Buggy class Yokomo’s Jackson Andres was trying to go 6 for 6 for the NCT. He was able to TQ and take A1 and A2 for the win, taking the 4WD Championship for the series. Tekno’s Jesse Munn ended round 6 on the 2 spot from Derek Rasheed (Tekno) on the 3 spot.

Yusuke Sugiura takes back-to-back Nitro Buggy title

The RC Land 23 track in Matsuzaka, Japan played host to the 2018 1/8th Off-road Japan Nationals this past weekend. Defending champion, Yusuke Sugiura (Kyosho/O.S. Engines) took the overall TQ and he also went on to win the A-main final to take a back-to-back title. Yusuke dominated the 60-minute final such that he already had a 1-lap lead some ten minutes into the race and he was able to stretch the lead to two laps with ten minutes to go. Mugen/Ninja’s Kenji Tsuruta would snatch the runner-up spot as Kyosho/O.S. Engines’ Juliya Kajiwara came in 3rd to round out the podium.

Graham wins SWORDS finale as Cobley takes title

The last UK regional race of the Summer season was held in the form of the the final round of the SWORDS series at the brand new Plymouth track. The days winners were Josh Graham 1st, Matt Roberts 2nd and Sam Cobley 3rd. This mean that the series was then won by Sam Cobley and his HB Racing buggy, Matt Roberts (Agama) was 2nd and young Maxim Cook (Agama) was 3rd.

Juan Carlos Canas wins Spanish Nitro Buggy Nats Rd3

The third round of the Spanish Nitro Buggy National Championship was held at the Valladolid track this past weekend. Mugen’s Robert Batlle was in control of things on the slippery track with the Kyosho duo of Brian Baldo and Joao Figueiredo coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively after the qualifiers. Mugen’s Juan Carlos Canas, who had a troublefull qualifier, would start the A-main from the pole position and he would also bring home the win in the 45-minute A-main from Robert Batlle on the 2 spot, a lap down. Robert felt less comfortable in the main compared to the previous days and he opted to just bring home the runner-up spot and thus valuable points for the championship. Another lap down it was Oscar Baldo who would round out the podium result for Kyosho, also suffering minor issues.
