Kyle McBride takes win at Queens Cup

Melbourne in Australia played host to the Queens Cup last weekend, attracting some of the country’s fastest 1/8th off-road racers. In the Pro Nitro Buggy class it was Kyle McBride who dominated the proceedings, taking the TQ and a dominant win in the 45-minute A-main, some five laps in front of Max Ricca as Shane Kelly rounded out the top 3 results. Behind the three, Shane Smith and Gavin White would complete the top 5.

5th Annual Quebec Classic – Announcement

The 5th Annual Quebec Classic race will be held from the 23rd to 26th of August near Montréal in QC, Canada. The event will see the attendance of reigning IFMAR World Champion, David Ronnefalk and 2014 World Champ, Ty Tessmann and it will be held in 1/8th Nitro and Electric Buggy and Truggy classes, 40+ Nitro Buggy and E-Buggy categories as well as 1/10th 2WD, 4WD and Pro4 SC classes. Sammy Moran double TQs & wins Mid Summer Shootout

The Pro-Line Mid Summer Shootout was held at Coyote Hobbies Indoor RC Raceway last weekend and it was TLR’s Sammy Moran that would sweep the ultra competitive 13.5 Wheeler and 17.5T Expert Buggy classes. Eliot Watson (Tekno) in 2nd and Wayne Wyrick (TLR) in 3rd would round out the 13.5T 4WD podium as the TLR duo of Ty Owings and Wayne Wyrick completed the 17.5T Expert Buggy podium.

Jessica Palsson wins at South Swedish Cup Rd2

The city of Höör played host to round 2 of the South Swedish Cup last weekend. HB Racing’s Hampus Berg made a clean sweep in the qualifiers from Jessica Palsson (Kyosho), who suffered a bit from the aftermath of illness, however starting from the P2 spot onto the 30-minutes main final she still got all cards on the table for an even better result. In the end Jessica was able to bring home the win with a 23-seconds margin on 2nd placed Hampus Berg despite an extra fuel stop. HB Racing driver Oskar Levin rounded out the top 3 results.

Nicolas Bregante TQs & wins Metropolitan Champs Rd4

The Speed Paradise track hosted round 4 of the Argentinean Metropolitan Championship recently and after taking the TQ in the qualifiers it was Nicolas Bregante (Xray) who also took the win in the 40-minutes long Nitro Buggy A-main. Alvaro Colombo came in 2nd from Fernando Villamil 3rd to round out the podium for HB Racing.

Daniel Kobbevik doubles at Norwegian Nats Rd2

Last weekend the second round of the Norwegian 1/8th Off-road Nationals was held at Hof Raceway, located some 45 minutes out off Norway’s capital of Oslo. It has been extremely hot in Norway the past weeks which meant challenging conditions and a hard-packed track with a lot off bumps but the club did its best to make the best out of it. Saturday started off with four qualification rounds for nitro, and Xray factory driver Daniel Kobbevik won three out of four qualifiers meaning the overall TQ in front of Xray’s Lars Erik Moe as Kyosho’s Danny Kwiatkowski came in 3rd.

Bula & Zalewski win at Oder Pomerania Cup Rd1

Last weekend saw the running of the opening round of the Oder Pomerania Cup in Poznan, Poland. Conditions were very difficult as it was hot and the bumpy track had almost no traction. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class Donat Bula brought home the win from Paweł Ntkovca 2nd and Mateusz Dudzic 3rd. Over in the 1/8th E-Buggy class Bartosz Zalewski was super fast all day and after winning all qualifiers and the semifinal he also took the overall win after the A-main finals with Wojtek Rzepecki and Steven Nortdorf rounding out the top 3.

Hupo Hönigl doubles at Austrian EP Buggy Nats Rd2

The second round of the Austrian 1/10th Electric Buggy Nationals was held in the north of the country. The track was in good shape upon the beginning of the weekend, however a bit slippery and dusty but this would change soon and the traction was coming up quite fast. Unfortunately overnight rain washed away all traction and it was Hupo Hönigl who made the best out of the conditions on Sunday, bringing home the double win in the 2WD Mod and 4WD Mod Buggy classes from Peter Pinisch 2nd and Martin Kreil 3rd.
