Schumacher Indoor Masters Rd5 – Report

The fifth round of the Worksop Series once again had a great entry of 15 heats of drivers spread across the three classes of 2WD, 4WD and vintage buggy. As always it was round by round qualifying as the racing format, with the best two results from four rounds of qualifying counting towards the final position. Qualifying in 2WD was dominated by Mitchell Fiddling who took TQ in three out of four rounds, so therefore he would line up on pole. In 4WD it was much closer and several drivers were battling it out for TQ honours, in the end Tom Cockerill would line up on pole. In the Vintage class it was very close between Richard Johnson and Chris Slater, in the end they were tied on points but Richard had the fastest time so would line up on pole.

Carisma Racing have announced the signing of former 2-time EFRA European Champion, Ellis Stafford to their growing team. The multiple UK national champion will not only lead the charge on track running both 2WD and 4WD 1/10th buggies, he will also be instrumental in progressing the designs, with real world testing, racing data and honest feedback. When asked why Ellis had decided to join the Carisma team, he had this to say:

The main thing that really struck me having spoken to Ivan on the phone, was his genuine desire to take his cars and company to the next level. We both understand this may not be a quick project, but we both want the same thing, and that is to positively bring Carisma Racing to people’s a en on, and to create both quality and fast, R/C race cars. I have a new found enthusiasm for racing, and am really looking forward to seeing what Ivan, his team, and myself can come up with in the future with the cars and the race results.
