Jesper Rasmussen TQs & wins at Winter Cup Rd3

The TMK Raceway indoor track in Sweden recently held round three of the poplar Winter Cup. The tight track meant the racers had to be on their toes all of the time with no place to rest. This, combined with few possibilities to overtake made for close racing. Jesper Rasmussen made the best out of the difficult conditions as he came out fastest after the controlled practice with Jessica Palsson and local driver Hampus Berg in second and third. Victor Gunnarsson rounded out the top 4 in the 2WD class and those four were set to battle it out for the overall win.

JConcepts Indoor National Series 2017 – Announcement

JConcepts have announced the 7th year of the Indoor National Series. With a host of sponsors, the INS7 series promises to be one of the best yet, including the consistency of solid locations of the past and a visit to one of the nation’s newest locations, Hobby Action R/C Raceway of Chandler, Arizona. With over 6,000 entries and counting, the JConcepts INS has become the race for racers to showcase their driving skills on a national and regional level while testing themselves against some of the industry’s best drivers. Known for its exciting mix of friendly, fun, world class racing atmosphere, the racing roots of the INS remain unchanged, but is devoted in making 2017 a breakout year in terms of series participation, factory drivers, representatives and professionalism. Niclas Mansson wins at The Traditional Lucia race

The “The Traditional Lucia race” was held in Sweden and it saw Daniel Kobbevik taking the TQ in the 2WD Buggy class after the three qualifiers. Alexander Landen would line up second on the grid from Max Johansson in third. The opening final saw Daniel and Alexander taking off with no problems and the two were soon joined by Niclas Mansson who was able to pass Max. Daniel was keeping the lead, but made a small mistake and got placed on the wrong track segment by a marshall which cost him a lot of time, meaning the battle was now on between Alexander and Nille. They were battling for a few laps and eventually Niclas managed to make an aggressive pass in the chicane and Alexander got spun. The latter took up the chase and tried a pass at the end of the straight, but they tangled and Alexander flipped so they finished in the order of Nille first and Alexander second.

Adi Riederer wins at Islikon Offroad Masters

The second round of the Swiss Islikon Offroad Masters was held this past weekend with about 80 drivers in several electric off-road classes. In the 4WD Buggy category it was Kevin Prinz (Xray) who took the overall TQ after the qualifiers but in the finals Adi Riederer (Xray), coming from the 2 spot on the grid, would take the overall victory from Kevin while Team Durango driver Philipp Huber rounded out the podium. The Xray duo of Michel Buschor and Mario Di Bella completed the top 5 result.

Yardy & Williams successful at Silverstone Winter Series

The recent round of the popular Silverstone Winter Series saw Schumacher’s Tom Yardy scoring a dominant win in the 2WD class. Tom TQ’’d all four rounds of qualifying, and cruised to a final win by a comfortable margin. There was a close battle for second between Eugene Galley (Xray) and Jack Neal (Schumacher) but eventually they tangled which allowed Richard Barton (Schumacher) through to take second and Iain Mellish (Kyosho) took third.

Adam Drake sweeps Toys for Tots

Thunder Alley Raceway hosted their Toys for Tots race over the weekend with the event having over 110 entries. Mugen’s Adam Drake would sweep the Nitro Buggy and Nitro Truck classes with his Novarossi-powered rides and he took a commanding victory in the 30 minute Nitro Buggy final by nearly a lap. Cody King (Kyosho/Reds Racing) settled for second and Joseph Quagraine (JQRacing/Reds Racing) finished third.

Reno Savoya sweeps Reims EMC race

The French Reims EMC club held an electric off-road race over the weekend at their indoor dirt track. The event had almost 100 entries and after four rounds of qualifying it was Reno Savoya who took the TQ in the 2WD Buggy class while local ace Romain Valter came out fastest in the 4WD qualifiers. The organisers ran four mains that were all very tight and entertaining and counting three out of four mains it was Reno who ultimately grabbed the overall wins in both classes.
