The December round of the Silverstone Indoor Winter Series saw another packed entry and some great racing. In 2WD Greg Williams (Schumacher) set TQ from team mates Richard Barton (Schumacher) and Dave Poulter (Schumacher). In the final Greg drove to a comfortable win from Ian Mellish (Kyosho) and Dave Poulter.
Thunder Alley RC Speedway in Wilson, North Carolina hosted their Christmas Race this past weekend. Florida’s JR Mitch was the man to beat as he set the TQ and took the win in the Nitro Buggy class and to back up his Nitro Buggy efforts, Mitch also set the TQ and took the win in the E-Buggy class. Elsewhere in the Nitro Truggy class rising star Austin Woodward laid it down by taking the TQ and the win.
Hitec have announced the signing of reigning French and Belgium 1/10th electric off-road champion, Nico Risser to their team. Nico, who also won this year’s Belgion 1/8th E-Buggy nationals, will use Hitec’s Lynx 4S radio system in his upcoming campaign and he has the following to say:

G-Force have announced the signing of Sweden’s Malin Karlsen to their team. The young lady already has a pretty remarkable CV following a successful racing year with the 4WD title in the Swedish national series, the Swedish 2WD and 4WD Junior title and an overall 28th place in the 4WD class at the 2015 IFMAR Worlds in Japan. In the coming year Malin will use the company’s chargers, power supplies and other accessories and she has the following to say about the deal:
I’m excited to have been signed to the G-Force Factory Team and can’t wait to start using their product line of chargers, power supplies, tyre warmers and corner weights. After the initial tests with the G-Force products I’m confident they will be a great asset to help me accomplish my goals for the upcoming 2016 season. The 4th annual Top Gun Shootout was held at SDRC in San Diego, California with just under 200 entries. In the premier class of 2WD Modified Buggy Team Associated’s Ryan Cavalieri would grab the TQ and also the win in the A-mains from 2015 IMFAR 2WD Buggy World Champion Spencer Rivkin. Fellow Team Associated driver Christian Toic rounded out the podium result in 3rd. In the 4WD Modified Buggy class it was again Ryan Cavalieri who came out fastest after the qualifiers and just like in the 2WD class he was able to conserve his qualifying performance to bring home the title from Spencer. Tyler Hicks in third would round out the all Team Associated podium. Elsewhere in the Racing Truck class Brent Thielke would grab the overall win from Kevin Kimberly and Reed Harper.
Following the overwhelming response to their revised track, the Panik Team Troisdorf club teamed up with Tonisport to announce the first ever Panik Grand Prix. Scheduled for the weekend of the 12th of June 2016 the race will be held on the club’s flowing yet technical astroturf track near the Cologne Airport. The event will adapt the EOS rules and entries will be limited to 100 drivers for 2WD, 80 for 4WD and 20 for Mod Truck respectively. The 11th annual Toys for Tots race was held this past weekend at Palm Desert R/C Raceway with some World-class drivers such as Adam Drake, Mark Pavidis, Joseph Quagraine, Richard Saxton, Tyler Brown and Victor Guerrero in attendance. In the 1/8th Expert Buggy class Mugen’s Adam Drake would take the TQ in both rounds of qualifying and he would lead the A-main from start to finish to win the 15 minute encounter by over a lap. TLR’s Mark Pavidis would end the race on the runner up spot from JQRacing’s own Joseph Quagraine in third. In the 1/8th Expert E-Buggy category Adam showed another dominating performance, taking the TQ after the qualifiers and the race win in the 10 minute A-main from Joseph Quagraine (JQRacing) and Dean Rock (Tekno) in second and third respectively.
The Binona RC track in Al Ain, UAE held its first international race event this past weekend. Although a bit light in terms of entries the event had some special guests in the form of Ryan Lutz, Surkiarn C. and Meen Vejrak. The opening qualifier of the Nitro Buggy class belonged to Ryan Lutz but making too many mistakes and being stuck in traffic meant the US boy would not be able to improve, but he would end up with the TQ in Nitro Truggy. In the opening stages of the 45 minute Buggy A-main Ryan was in a battle with Meen for the lead until he found a groove and was able to open a 2 seconds gap. A disastrous lap with three mistakes soon after saw him loosing about 18 seconds on Meen but constantly pulling high 29 seconds laps while Meen was doing low 30’s allowed Lutz to close the gap slowly but steadily. In the lead by about 10 seconds Meen made a mistake and he soon after round his tyres to become unglued so he had to pit for a new set which allowed Ryan to take over the lead and to bring home the win by some five laps after the 45 minutes. Surikarn C. would grab the runner-up spot five seconds in front of Meen V. Elsewhere in the Nitro Truggy class Ryan Lutz had a pretty easy 45 minutes, winning the race some 8 laps in front of Edward Anthonijsz in second and Tamas Klein in third.
