Jordan Chong wins at Sabah Borneo off-road race

The Sabah Borneo nitro off-road race was the first ever race held on the newly built facility and it attracted 22 drivers in total. The start of the 45 minute Nitro Buggy A-main saw Jo Wong and Jordan Chong climbing up the field until Jo ran into trouble that allowed Jordan to catch his teammate. Jordan than was able to cruise to the win with Jo Wong in 2nd place while Salman Siran, who took the TQ after the qualifiers, came in 3rd to complete the podium.

JConcepts Challenge Rd5 – Report

The 5th round of the Norwegian JConcepts Challenge was held at Mustit RC with the track being run in its normal fashion this time. Saturday started out with 4WD Buggy and 4WD Short Course with Daniel Kobbevik sitting on TQ in both classes. Daniel then went on to win the first two Short Course A-mains to take the overall win early. The race then was on for the runner-up spot with Dag Andre Karlstad ultimately grabbing the 2nd spot from Robert Stormyrbakken in 3rd.

Korean company Highest announce the signing of Robert Batlle to their team. Robert will use the company’s high-performance servos in his 1/8th and 1/10th scale rides this season.

Raphael Jason Nugroho re-signs with Xray

Xray have announces that young and talented off-road racer Jason Nugroho from Indonesia will continue to race with the Slovakian company in 2015. Jason is a long time Xray supporter and he is a regular podium finisher at all major Asian off-road events. Jason says:

I’m very happy to be part of official Xray team. Xray always make the best quality parts that it make me feel confident to compete at every national and international race. Adam Drake joins Hitec factory team

Hitec RCD USA have announced the signing of Mugen Seiki’s Adam Drake to use their full product line. Since 2005, Adam has been a Hitec team driver using their servo technology to make him a world-renowned racing champion. Now, in addition to running Hitec’s brushless servos, Adam will be piloting his vehicles using the company’s radio systems also, specifically the Lynx 4S radio and Axion line of receivers.

Stu Wood teams up with Xray

Xray has announced the signing of British off-road legend Stu Wood to their 1/10th electric off-road team. Stu will race both the XB4 and XB2 and he will coordinate the UK off-road support. Stu has the following to say:

I would like to thank to Xray for this lifetime opportunity to be part of team which produces the best RC products today. I have competed at all levels of racing from beginner to World Championships and I know what it takes to win and I know I can help the Xray team and they can help me.  I have also had a few years in the retail side of RC and I understand that we have to support anyone on and off the track to promote our products and our sport and as such I am here to help anyone so do not hesitate to ask me for any help.

Lorenzo Crolla wins at French EP Off-Road Nats Rd1

The opening round of the French 1/10th Electric Off-Road Nationals was held at BCL this past weekend and in the 4WD Buggy class it was Lorenzo Croll who grabbed the TQ by winning three out of the five qualifiers. The triple A-mains then were quite a mixed affair for Lorenzo as he scored 5th place finishes in the first two legs but a first place and a 2 second faster time than his toughest competitor Ludovic Valtier handed Lorenzo the overall win in the third and decisive final. Ludovic Valtier came in 2nd while Julien Formentin rounded out the podium in 3rd.
